wouldn't start, not even with a jump (found my cables +1), so AAA is on the way. I'll let you know how it goes with the dealer.

They are replacing the battery, no charge. They found a bad cell and said the charging system is 'within limits'. Keeping my fingers crossed that this is the end of it!

Oh don't say that! I just spent over a month trying to figure out what was draining the battery in my roommates Charger SRT8. Turned out to be the radio.... (sorry to be slightly off topic... >.<)

Fwiw, a large number of 2010 fits got batteries with one cell that failed early. Likely yours was just less defective.

Hey Newby Welcome to the fit journal.I to am an owner of a 2010 Fit ,I have had to jump start it twice .but no real fault to the car .I use the Fit mostly on week ends and only have 14,000 on mine .I haul a lot of things with mine ,From bicycles to kayaks to 4x8 sheets of what ever .what I had to do was remove the light bulb from the back. as I tend to leave the hatch open every now and then.I could not find a way to turn it off so I just removed the bulb. so far so good I believe I use my fit for unconventional things , But my motto is if you cant use it for what you want why keep it. the fit is amazing ,besides looking good, fun to drive and good on gas .I haven't found much I can't haul around .i have a trailer hitch and a hitch extension.See photo at member DPC

yah, some of us already mentioned it. but it appears there is a known issue of defective batteries that were installed on the 2010's. we hope that cures jim's problem cause 18miles one way on this commute should be plenty to charge the battery.

I'm usually really good about turning everything off, so I don't think that was a factor. Bad battery aside, I had my previous car 13 years () and I'm getting used to the idea that current cars have more electrical draws than my '97 Legacy did. And since I got my bucket list toy, the Fit can sit unused for a few days or more at a time. I'm going to start using a battery maintainer on it when I see it being parked for several days at a time going forward.

Thanks guys

#1 please post picts of your bucket list toy (well, if safe for work).

#2 i use a product called battery tender available for like $25 at amazon. both my G and Z are hooked up to it in my garage when i know im not going to be driving them for a few days. my 8yr old G is on stock battery.

Yup, new cars nowadays definitely, with all the gadgets, are a bit more dependent on good batteries for trickle/keep alive power. And it doesn't take much for that itty-bitty battery on the Fit.
