I have a sudden desire to Google: "Lift kits for Honda Fit"

FittedOnEm Nov 27, 2012 05:14 PM

You have some issues if you have a problem with other people saying you drive a "girl's car."

Goobers Nov 27, 2012 05:20 PM

Topic is a bit behind, no?

The fit is a number one selling car in Japan. It only makes sense when you have a huge volume of buyers like that to try and make something for half of them, which is probably a larger demographic than their entire population that owns some of their other models. If it was a civic "girl edition" that came out here, would you think the civic was a girl's car? Pretty much the same deal. The Fit is just way more popular and practical there.

MNfit Nov 28, 2012 08:34 AM

LOL, that particular Fit is tailored for girls. That doesn't mean all Fits are girls cars. Also if you are also so insecure about the car you drive might be called a girl car then go buy the biggest truck you can find, put a lift on it, big tires, and some of those balls hanging from the trailer hitch... that should prove to everyone you are manly.

hahaha, so sad.

In my case it is my own fault my other car is a Miata. Even though it is lowered, has a hardd dog rollbar, racing wheels and other modification everybody still refers to it as a girl's car. So when I got my Fit heard the same thing. But who cares I enjoy both cars for different reasons.Attachment 22064

I gave up caring what people thought of me after about age 16. I highly recommend it.

...previous to be getting the cr-z, i had a 07 fit sport. loved it all the way around. after i purchased her, i went to japan for a month and noticed two things....one-fit were called jazzes (old news) and two-they were marketed mostly for female drivers and everyone behind a wheel of a jazz was a female. i thought, ehhh, what ever. i greatly enjoyed the little car...it had spunk and was very roomy.

blassty Nov 28, 2012 03:21 PM

LOL. Yep. You lost your man-card. Hand it over, bud. I'm gonna use it as trade to pay for some coilovers for my GE.

It's a smart business move to cater towards a certain audience. I've seen my share of mary kay cars and people bought those. Atleast this pink appears to be a light pink champagne color and not a bold barbie pink or neon. I think its a nice color but wouldn't purchase this color myself. HOWEVER, after saying that I wouldn't purchase a pink car, I do have a neon pink revolver sticker for my car...

due to gender stereotypes, you propose buying a fairly inefficient device for carrying around battery packs and not much else. wait, I think I missed something.

Meh.
I don't sweat it.
It's Japanese culture and marketing. It's been done before. There is much more the idea of selling a small vehicle in Japan to women as almost a fashion accessory.

The Honda Fit is a sub-compact hatchback, if they want to make one in "pink" fine. I don't have to buy it.

When you're driving a sub-compact, there is almost no way to get away from it. I chose "Black" to try to get away from the "cute" reaction, but still most women's reaction seem to be that it is such a "cute" car.

I don't really care.

I don't think that marketing approach would work very well in the USA, outside of maybe Beverly Hills.
