How often do you use your Paddle Shifters?
#2
Regularly, but not in a spirited way. I often have to pass through complicated interchanges (think 3 two-way merges and then split exits, 15 seconds apart). If there's traffic seeking to cross in the opposite direction, it's good to be able to select a lower gear, because at any point you may need to speed up immediately, or slow down.

I use it in the sport mode exclusively, all the time. I know better what kind of acceleration I will be doing next and what kind of grade is approaching- there is no way for the car to forecast this. My own shifts are more optimal. You can shift in turns; that's why the upshift paddle has the textured ridge on the back, so you can tell it apart from the (smooth) downshift paddle.

As a test, try using the paddle shifters to see if you can get better MPG.
I find that you can shift the transmission sooner than in auto, so I can get into the higher gears faster.

As I have an CVT, I mostly use it in Drive mode and full auto. I like the comfort with it.
But in long downhill I often use the paddle to motor-brake.
Seldom use it in Sport-mode at all. With S-mode in the CVT the only difference is a bit higher rev. So I use it some time to overtake slower traffic, and also to go really slow in rush-traffic (that we have very little of here I live).

i believe using paddles helps save gas a little. oh and it still depends how you drive though. imho
its a little confusing to upshift/downshift in U-turns
do you also find it a little awkard when shifting from S to N vice versa during short stops? or you never shift back to N?

I use my paddles all the time,
mostly in the canyons and I can control my gear selection.I do not understand the issue of shifting in turns
when racing you should make up or down shifts before you enter a turn and set entry speed and then power out of the turn in the optimum gear.
this is how I drive in the canyons and I still maintain a stock manual Fit is not much faster then a A/T with me driving the Auto
I also use the paddles in D mode to down shift to 4th when passing on the hwy.

Tried it once maybe twice, then I realize I have an auto. If I wanted to shift I should have gotten a manual. Paddle shifters are as useless to me like the 10 cup holders on a car that don’t sit 10 people. Besides, I drive a car … not a canoe.

I actually use the paddle shifters all the time, just to get more out of this little Fit. It's funny, I actually never really used the paddle shifters in my Evo X when I had it. The Evo's computer just did a better job than I ever can.

lol on the 10 cup holders!
but sometimes i feel like its useless too, i only use it for the sake of using it because its there... but on the other side sometimes it feels good to use it.. maybe a little bit of a driver's preference.
