Lightbulb Trying to pick right " Muffler" Advice needed.

Hi peeps, I've been lurking around these awesome forums for some time now and I'm in the need of some help

The other day I decided that my Jazz was too quiet and I wanted to upgrade the exhaust / muffler. Now I'm a total noob when it comes to cars, like I know the basics but that's it. I've been to about 5 local muffler shops and phoned at least 20 and I'am getting mixed info from all of them essentially I have a stock 2011 Jazz 1.3 Manual that I want to make louder. I was told by most the muffler joints that the Jazz has a silencer out of the factory.

Now one of the muffler joints was kind enough to put the jazz up on the hoist and have a look. I couldn't take a photo but I did take a image with my MIND and I've basically replicated what I could see into paint

Now quite a few places are saying to just cut @ Fig 1 and install a 4" Canon? He showed me and it looks like this
'
But then I told other muffler shops his idea and they said nooooo, I'll loose back pressure and mess up my sensors? So then I rang ANOTHER joint and they said that's bullshit, the only sensor is in the catalytic converter and if I leave the resonator on I'll still have plenty of back pressure so that sends me back to the start again.

Any one have any insight on this? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Luis

Anything but a cannon. If you insist on cannon style find something with a smaller diameter. 4" exit on a 1.3 is silly.

None of this will effect your sensors in any bad way.

your stock exhaust starting right from the head to past the cat is enough restriction to protect sensors from being damaged. zero backpressure is perfectly fine to have. what you NEED is whats called the scavenging effect. Basically, each exhaust "pulse" helps out the next cylinder fired "pulse"

point blank, you can replace the entire rear of the exhaust with anything you want

The Flowmaster Hushpower dbX may be something worth looking into. Plenty of threads here about it with videos and sound clips. Do a search. Someone has a "mother of all exhausts" thread" with it referenced.

You'd want P/N: 12014310, 2" In and Out, as advised by Flowmaster. Can be had for $150 all-in on eBay.

I too have been thinking about a reasonable Exhaust for my fit. 1.5, dont want a fart cannon, just something sporty. Have looked at the T1R and a couple others, but 600 bucks is wayy too much for me. Anybody just put in a test pipe from A@J and experience any increase in sound? (good sound, not fart can)

First of all, no more "fartcan" sounds out here, PLEASE! I am subjected to that, numerous times, daily. I think I'm being surrounded by fartcan rides as of late!

HKS Hi-Power Exhaust

HKS EXHAUST Technology There are other HKS on Honda Fit vids on that link page to check out too.

Don't have one myself (although, would like to), but everyone I've spoken with who does has nothing but good to say about HKS. All love the sound... no "fartcan" effect!

Just another idea for you!
