Hello/Another Seat Cover Thread

Hi all,

Just joined the forum today! I lurked for a few months prior while considering a new vehicle. I ended up purchasing a new 2012 MT Sport. So far so good... I enjoy driving it.

I have a question regarding covers for the front seats. I like the OEM rear seat covers and am going to purchase those. I'd like to find something similar for the front seats, but something sideless, preferably made from a similar type of material as the OEM. Honda Japan has some of the type I'm looking for (see HERE at the bottom). Anybody know of something similar available here in the USA? I'm aware that these are really low in the "looks" category, so I apologize if I've scandalized anybody.

For $200.00 shipped, ordered through the Costco online site, you can get Coverking Neoprene Wetsuit padded seat covers that fit perfectly. I just installed a set and they fit exactly, look great, and only took about 20 min. for installation. Waterproof, extremely comfortable, and cleanable with wet suit shampoo.

Open sides for air bags, and available in a lot of colors including all black. Look them up in the automotive interior accessory dept. on Costco.com.

I really like Clazzio's. They really upgrade the interior to a more rich look. They've been installed over a year now and still look great.

CarCoverPlanet.com

Thanks,
Most, or all of those in the ad come from Coverking. Costco does not carry the cheap "Neosupreme" version, only the high grade real neoprene, as well as two other materials in all Coverking colors. The prices in that ad look higher than Costco's on all of the real Coverking products that they carry.

If you like those photos, look up the Coverking products on costco.com. You get two advantages- lower prices than anywhere else, and the ability to return the shipment to any Costco store for a guaranteed refund if you don't like what you bought.

Hatari10 I agree I would like some front seat covers that match the rear accesory covers. I got a 2013 fit sport and the seats are collecting way too much lent and junk. Please share if you find some good ones that match.

Thanks Triskelion, will do that.

Another vote for the Costco Coverking neoprene covers. Fit tight and look nice. Don't know how someone did it in 20 minutes - it took me 2 hours for the 2 front seats, but the result is nice enough.

If they ever wear out (or wear out too soon), I'll probably go with Coverking ballistic cordura because they seem to know how to cut them to fit. But for now, they're new.

The cordura would probably wear like iron, but I read at least three other forums member's good reports on the high grade neoprene. The waterproof nature, and the close weave of the rubberized cloth (to resist dog hair from clinging to it, along with slobber and the rest of dog contamination) is what sold me on the neoprene. The feel of that material with the padding attached to the underside really makes these a great value.

I am still kicking myself- had been thinking about ordering for at least two years. When I finally got around to actually placing the order, the price had gone up by $40.00 to the present $199.00 (was $159.00). I am still happy with the purchase. Will not cover the back seats because I rarely carry passengers and leave the back seats folded down with the whole back floor covered by the Elemmat (again for protection from dog damage). The dogs are now old, though, and we will not have any more after our current friends have passed on. Maybe then I will cover the back seats.

I know that dogs can be family and they have a short life, but don't give up on new family members. We still miss our Italian Greyhound and our Halequin Great Dane, our Coker-PO-Schnauzer, our Bassett, our Minature Schnauzer, our what the heck is it, our many other animals. Our Whippet, Raul, is 17 and going deaf and blind, won't be too long till he leaves us too and we will miss him, but replacing them with a new family member is vitally necessary.. for them and for us.

All the best

Anyone have a pros vs. cons for the Coverking neoprenes vs. the Clazzios ? I have heard many votes for both, and that the Clazzio pvc can get hot in the summer and neoprene can cause "swamp ass". Whats the real deal from long term neoprene/Clazzio owners? Would you buy either again?

Thanks!

My Clazzio's have been installed for over a year now. I don't have any complaints. They look like the day they were installed. I find they do get warm in the heat, but not to the point you can't sit on them. Maybe it's because my fit is tinted. I'm sure that helps. To clean, all you do is swipe a damp towel across them. Everyone that sees them asks me if they're leather and they can't believe they are seat covers.

The Coverking's are popular as well. From the feedback I've read for both, you really can't go wrong with either.

Bringing back an old thread!

Really stuck between the Coverking neoprene and Clazzio PVC. Biggest concern is which is better to clean dog hair from.

Many thanks.

We have a dog. No issues with hair sticking to the PVC, but maybe a dog's nails could be rough on the PVC? Not sure about that, since we have a smaller dog. We always cover the seats up when we travel. If you decide to choose the Clazzio's, go with Spencer at Beans Garage. He's a sponsor here and his service is impeccable!

I'm totally pleased with my Clazzio's. They're my best upgrade to date. They give the interior a rich look. They also look as good as the day they were installed. The only issue, I can think of, is the PVC heating up in the sun and getting hot. Even that doesn't bother me, because the covers look so darn good.

There have been good reviews of the CR grade Coverking's too. Just make sure you do the the CR grade neoprene and not the neosupreme stuff.

Thank you. I'm also curious as to which would be easier to repair should there be a tear etc.

Just looked at some of the pics in the other thread, man those really DO look classy! They make the seats look like leather, a nice upgrade. Do they have a smell when they are new? Like, chemical or plastic or something? I'm in a very hot climate and don't want my car to smell like a chemics lab or something. Would be really nice to just swipe the dog hair off instead of having to vacuum...Of course she's a WHITE dog...

It will have a plasticy smell for a little bit, but thats easily fixed if you open the box and lay them out in a garage for a week.

Do they still take 10-12 weeks to deliver? Patience is NOT my strong suit...

(me most of the time, unless I'm sleeping)

If you order them custom, yes to 10-12 weeks. I ordered black and had them in hand within a week. I believe Beans always carries black in stock. Like V-fit said, they do have a smell new. The smell goes away pretty quickly.
