get your front windows tinted 50% at least it will cut the UV rays out for the most part and prevent your car from turning into an oven in the sun lol

Where'd you end up getting yours done? I'm planning to go to Solar Solutions in Bedford I think, works with my schedule and they have great reviews on Yelp.

Funny you ask that because I got mine done at solar solutions also. They did a fantastic job and they were quick too. They have an excellent rating on yelp so that's why I went there. They were ready and waiting for me when I pulled in and started working on it as soon as I picked the tint I wanted. Its just a two person team: a woman who makes the appts and cleans the windows and a guy who does the tint. The only bad thing is that they only have three types of tint to pick from (35%, 18% and 5%). I got the 18% because I have a waiver from the RMV which allows me to go that dark. I also got the windshield strip done. I can see out at night but it is pretty dark (almost too dark). Even during the day if I go in a tunnel with sunglasses on I have to take off the sunglasses to see better. The 5% must be almost impossible to see out of at night. I love it though and I'm very happy I went for the 18%. I can attach a pic if you like. What color fit do you have?

Tidewater.

What stock do they carry? IIRC their website doesn't say.

I also just found a detailing company that will also do tinting and pickup our of Salem, so if I can't get on the schedule with Solar Solutions today, I might go with them.

I'm not sure what stock it is. I don't know one kind from another so it wouldn't make a difference to me even if I did. It is guaranteed for life against peeling and cracking though so that should tell you something. The last place I went to for my old car didn't offer that warranty. I doubt you'll get in there today although they may be less busy during the week. I had to wait two weeks to get an appt on a Saturday. Keep in mind that the small side windows on the fit are pretty tough to tint so I'd only have the other place do it if they came highly recommended.

Here it is hit and miss but I know enough individuals that have been ticketed that the risk is not worth the trouble. I figure if I go CTX50 chances are lower then going with 20%.

Yeah, I just got off the phone with them and they told me two weeks if I want a Saturday. I guess I'll have a little time to think on it and see, but you raise a good point about the precision.

Thanks for the feedback!

I say NAY. I just don't feel it looks good on most vehicles (Fit's included). Plus, the headache of dealing with police who don't like it or if you ever decide to take it off, it can be a PITA.

don't know how people deal with this car without tints its like driving a fishbowl. the worst is at night. you get blinded by suv/truck lights.

I agree...and on hot days its like driving around in a greenhouse. Imagine what it would be like if they came with a sunroof? Hey...I just had a good idea...honda fit mobile grow houses. (munchies)

The cops will only harass you if it's too dark.

Since ThEvilOnE introduced Llumar Air Blue 80 as a option on his car I am in between this and CTX50. With Air Blue 80 I could do all the windows if with the standard window tint with Air Blue 80 allows in 70% light then it would be legal in NYS. Not sure if it will.

I went with 5% in the back and 20% in the front. Love it since its so freaking hot in texas. Plus I have kids, keeps them comfortable back there. I wouldn't recommend going Lower than 20% unless your state doesn't care. 5% is freaking dark but my city cops don't care.

I just got mine tinted on my White Fit. I went with a 15% sunstrip in the front window, 35% on the front side windows, and 15% on all the back windows. I was soooo hesitant about going 15% on the back, as I don't want mine to look as if I'm trying to trick it out. However, 15% looks amazing and quite nice. It makes the car look more classy, in my opinion.

I've posted a picture, but have more if you guys are interested in seeing them.

I can already tell a huge difference regarding the temperature in the car when I get off of work. The white fit looks great with the tinted windows and the darker wheels on the 2013 models.

Since Solar Solutions did a straight quote without asking me about the options, and I was already going to have another place do some electrical work for me and they also do tinting, I decided to talk with them, and in the end I decided to have them do the tinting instead. They're in Stoneham so it's also fairly close by. I already had a consultation with them and I'll be getting it scheduled tomorrow.

do it, I wasn't able to find a reputable place down in the city that had Llumar but my friend recommend a shop that does the tints for the local Lexus dealership that had Suntek. 50% on all for i believe around $220 or so.
