Is this totally unreasonable?

--FS: SOCAL 16x9.5 BBS RS w/ 4" Lips $2,000-- - StanceWorks

About what would it look like? Does anyone have any examples? I'm assuming I'd need to cut and section the fenders and do some serious fab work but god it could look amazing.

Of course., Why do you want a wheel that extends 3" out from the fender?
For the uninitiated, thats a change of 1.25 inch from the offset and 1.75" from the additional rim width. Just what width tires were you thinking about to fit on 9.5" wheels? 255/40x16's ?

What's the stock wheel size and offset? Also I'm not sure how you concluded I want the wheel to stick out 3" from the fender when I noted it would require sectioning and extending the fender out. Did you mean why would I want a wider wheel?

Sounds like it will be the ugliest Fit on here. Go for it. I want to see the resultant messed up car that will be worth squat.

Suspension should give up in no time.

That thing is wild, are those like 19's? I'm curious who has some of the most aggressive 16's on here.

The other option that's not off the table is to sell the tires and outer lip and buy 2.5" outer lips which would bring them down to 16x8 + 18

The OEM Fit wheel is 15 or 16 inch with 52 or 53 mm offset.
The reference to the extension refers to the shape of the cnsideable fender work that has little reward.
And yes, why do you want a wider - and far heavier - tire that mounts on 9.5 inch wide rims. A 255/40x16 tire is many pounds heavier, which means considerable loss in mpg and acceleration without any gains in cornering.
And as far as image is concerned, do you have a good concept of that finished fender and tire arrangement?
Just becaused it can be done doesn't mean it should.

I don't have any idea what I want the fender shape to look like which is why I started this thread.. Your time will be much wiser used showing examples of wide or aggresive wheel rather than trying to dissuade me with your personal opinions.

Check out Fitdeez. He had 17x10 in the rear with Brock B1s. It could be really similar to that with the negative offset

Do it if that's the look your going for but don't expect it to ride good unless you go air ride. I'm installing 17x8.5 et35 w/ 205/40 and think might be pushing. Are u modifying for just looks? Or performance and looks?

I wonder when the majority of car communities finally decide to get rid of the stupida$$ stretched tire look.

And you think your 17x8.5/35 205/40x17 is going to be better? Do show us a photo. Before you get in trouble consider 17x7/45 with 205/40x17 tires.

17x8.5 with 205/40 tires. No fender rolling/pulling. I only dropped my car about 1.7 inches on tanabe springs. Front pokes out a bit but love the lip on the rims. Tires are stretched, I just wanted a nice wide stance.

Honestly I think it looks great people like different stuff, I’m trying to run 16x8 +15 completely stock and am super scared I’ll rub I put 195/45r16s to test fit the front and it worked fine but is thinner then I’d like them to be you think I could pull off 205/45r16 I don’t like a lot of stretching freaks me out.

Why would you put a 16x8 +15 wheel on a stock Fit.

Ugh
