driver side is sagging 3/8ths of an inch

Is anyone else experiencing their driver side sagging slightly. I am not a large person, I only weigh 160 pounds. I have been cornering on exit ramps and city roads fairly hard most of them being right hand turns, somewhat explaining the left side wear. my car only has 2000 miles on stock base model suspension. and I only just noticed the sagging a few days ago. if anyone else is having this issue please post to this thread.

A slightly uneven ride height is not abnormal and nothing to be alarmed about. A difference of 3/8 inch is fine and won't cause any problems. I don't know the exact specs, but I can almost guarantee that variation is well within Honda's specs. It was probably off by about the same amount when your car was new. Measure other Fits (or any other cars) and you'll see, it's not going to be perfect.

If you want your ride height to be perfectly symmetrical, adjustable ride height is the best way to achieve it - coilovers, air suspension, etc. Either that or you can swap springs, trim them, add spacers, different top hats, or anything else. But it's pointless really.

This is normal. Springs settle over time so it could go the complete other way after a few thousand miles.

sagging driver side

I am measuring from the ground to the middle center of the fernder . I'm an ASE re-certified technician. just another standard ride height check, if i measure from the ground to the frame or pinch welds it is the same difference.

sagging driver side

i know slight ride height difference is normal, but it literally happened overnight it seems. since i bought the vehicle brand new I am hypersensitive about every aspect and notice the littlest things like this from day to day.

^ I was like that for maybe 9 months when I bought my GD new in '08. Then I got a door ding and said F'it and let my "mod bug" take over

As doctordoom said, only real solution is to go with an adjustable height suspension kit, and have the car corner balanced... There will be other benefits to doing so that are not just cosmetic

was this measured with the e-brake pulled? drive around the block and remeasure it with the e-brake not pulled to see if it makes a difference.

I'm rather impressed that the OP has a parking space on something that's flat and level to within 3/8 inch. I know my garage floor varies more than that (partly by design, for drainage, and partly by age, due to settling and cracking and so forth).

^ exactly.

Unless it's on an alignment rack I wouldn't trust casual measurement. Even then I don't think 3/8 inch (9.5mm) is significant. Depending on how it came to rest, the bushings could hold it that much different.

door ding

I almost had my first door smash already, went shopping and since i park as far away from anything to prevent such dings. i parked next to a cart collection bin and a wind gust came just as i opened the door and it was an inch or two from the bin. nearly putting an exhaust pipe cresent moon dent in the door edge.

adjustability

i plan on upgrading the suspension. i would really rather have the air ride but i refuse to sacrifice the trunk space for the components. seeing is that i will have more than one compressor for faster action.

Is this measured both front and rear wheels on the driver's side? 3/8", as noted by other posters, is not really significant due to the fact that the unladen weight of nearly all cars do not weigh the same on all 4 wheels, Thouygh modst know that the weight front is more than the rear weight, not that many know that cars also have more weight to one side than the other. I went and measured two Fits here and both had 3/8" lower driver side than the passenger side, front, and 1/4" rear.
Unlless you begin to see differences in left hand versus right hand cornering I agree dion't worry about it.

my car usually has a full tank. I live 1 mile from my job and a full tank lasts on average of one month. i only run shell v-power 93 octane.

Well there ya go. The weight of the unnecessary octane is causing a list.

These cars run just fine on 87 octane.

Save the 4-5 bucks per fillup and put it towards your lowering springs in the future

87 octane burns dirty. eventually it will contaminate your oxygen sensors and potentially cause damage to the converter. new cars computer systems are hyper sensitive to these slight abnormalities in air fuel ratios.

Good thing I have an old Fit. I've never had any of these issues with regular. Or maybe had I used premium Shell all these years, would it have stayed new?
