Arrow Rubber Notch in Glove Box

Does anyone know what the rubber notch in side the upper glove box is for?

Maybe it's a vestige from some non-US feature that got left off our cars. It seems pretty silly for either use...

I put a pen there too, you could put a pencil type tire pressure gauge there, but I don't trust that styles accuracy.

I use it for a pen as well. Bic disposable pens fit perfectly, don't fall out.

Mine holds my thumb drive for the radio.

I am going to install a 12 volt outlet (cigarette lighter style) in the upper glove box, for portable GPS.
When plugged into the single 12 volt outlet, it obstructs the left side cup holder. Great poor engineered design Honda!

At least the thumb drive holder was a good design.

Silly?

When you get involved in a fender bender and need to exchange insurance info... hum, where can you find a pen?

Or say, you encounter someone as you're getting out (or in) your car, and you need to jot each other's digits... a pen would be good, no?

Yes silly. The interior is BLACK. Sport models ONLY come in all black interior. Putting a pen in that thing during the summer is just asking for a melted pen.

Have you actually had a pen melt in there? Cause I haven't. I've had a few pens scattered in my car, none have come close to melting, or even leaking ink.

Only for USDM models as most overseas models have removable cup holders though a bit smaller then our cup holder sizes.
