Headroom in 2008 vs. 2010 Fit?
Headroom in 2008 vs. 2010 Fit?
I'm really close to buying a Fit, and deciding between 1st and 2nd generation.
When I first got into a 2010, I felt that the seat was really high, and my head was too close to the roof and windshield. I have a relatively long torso and am not very tall (5'6"), so the seat was fairly far forward. I then drove a 2008 model, and felt that there was a little more headroom.
Can anyone else who's driven both generations comment on "apparent" headroom"? Is it just me who felt that there was a difference (am I making it up)?
I know that the tech specs say that the 2008s are 40.6" headroom and the 2010s are 40.4" headroom, but of course that is measured a particular spot, so I'm more interested in other people's experience/feelings of the difference.
(Also if you care to comment on other considerations when choosing between 2008 base manual and 2010 base manual, feel free).
Thanks!

I don't think you're wrong about the headroom. I spent the last few months shopping for a Fit and comparing the first and second gen. I am a very big guy, both tall and heavy, and I wasn't completely sure at first that I'd be happy moving to a small car. I definitely felt that there was more headroom in the first gen.
In the end I went for the second gen anyway, because I just liked almost everything else about it more. The interior of the first gen seemed a LOT more narrow than the second gen. In the first gen I was brushing shoulders with an adult in the passenger seat, in the second gen there's like six inches between us. The interior of the first gen also just seemed kind of cheap compared to the second gen.
