USB adapter

So have converted my headunit over to a nexus 7 with quiet a few other changes to make all of this work without issue. I miss my stock located USB plug working. So I have a usb hub in the dash that I can easily plug the stock usb outlet into.... but they decided to make the part that would go into the radio slightly smaller than a standard usb plug. My options are try to find an adapter or cut it and make it work with a standard usb plug.

After searching I have come up empty on a converter plug but before I go to cutting I just wanted to make sure no one has found a simply plug and play solution for this.

While I'm not sure of the setup you have rigged it might be easiest (and most cost effective) to run a new USB cord to the glove box instead of splicing.

I think I am going to end up cutting the end off and soldering it to be a standard male end USB cord.

When I did mine I got a standard USb extension cable, Pulled the top "glove box" off and routed the new cable behind the glove box(where the OEM cable is). You can just tuck the OEM cable back there incase you want to put the stock radio back in down the line.

not sure wat you're saying but on my pioneer dd HU, i just have the usb cord coming out behind the dash into the glove box area.

i will be selling my car in a couple of years so didnt want to mess with cutting up anything since i will be putting the stock stereo back in before trade. its not like the cord and usb drive rattles in the glove box.

I bought a Sony XAV701HD to replace my stock head unit in my 2007 Fit Base. It comes with two USB ports, so I bought one of these: PAC USBCBL USB Extension Cable with Mounting Bracket :: Accessories and used it to extend the USB female end under the JDM center console with armrest then I fished it up the armrest in the front so I can plug in a USB cable in the armrest console. I was also thinking about drilling a hole near the head unit in that plastic shroud piece (that I can't remember what it's called) but the angle wasn't right because that piece starts to curve right about where I needed to put it. Good luck!
