14mm crush washers for the oil drain plug list for $0.37 (pn 94109-14000) but the actual price you pay depends on your local dealer.
I suppose you could search Home Depot for a 14mm aluminum crush washer of the right thickness, but I'd rather swing by the Honda parts counter and pick up a filter (they include the washer too).

is this the same as stock ones? they come in a pack of 25.
Ebay also has them, I guess that's the best route for these things. oem

Build up an order of a good amount of consumable parts you may need, and order from one of the forum sponsors/honda internet dealers where they will give you the .37 price.
Think hard like: filters, wipers, brake pads, spark plugs, dw-1 etc.
example:
Discount Honda Fit Accessories - Discount Genuine Honda Accessories
This is just to amortize the shipping amount.
Then you will be good for awhile.

I have reused the aluminum washers about 2 oil changes each, I just flip em and they don't leak (if torqued correctly). These are soft but don't compress much so they can be reused in reality. I've done about 5 oil changes on my fit thus far and zero issues and no seepage.
Re-use the old one. Then when it fails and the oil light comes on blame Honda when they have to re-build the engine for big $$$$$.
I can't believe people looking for cheap washers. Like at max oil is changed a couple times a year so whether the washer is a buck or two you are looking at $4? Cheap Cheap Cheap!!!

says the guy who doesn't do his own oil changes... An advantage of a DIY oil change is that you chose the quality parts/oil and work you do. Most people are annoyed to have to pay 2$ for a washer that is really worth .30$. I try to keep the cost of my oil changes down and i'm probably just gonna buy some washers in bulk so whenever I do an oil change, I just have to reach for the big bag rather than have to keep buying washers at 5 times the price by the unit.
I seem to recall you do not drive a lot so how often are you going to change your oil? I suspect once a year so you save hmm $1.70 minus gas for going to buy this washer someplace. Maybe just skip a Timmy's and your washer is paid for.
Right I do not do my own changes. Don't have to buy ramps, piss around jacking car and disposing of used oil and filter and WASHER, wiping up spills etc etc.
I recommend to those of us over 70 - let Honda do it. It is too damn hard to get up and down off the ground to do it.
I think the quality of Honda oil and filter should be just fine for my Honda. I get free washers when I let them do it. I do not have to remember a year later where I put that bag of washers.

The last time and only time I went to honda for an oil change the service guy just pumped too much into it. I thought it was new oil and let it settle down. Checked a few times next day, the oil was 1 inch over the MAX mark. I know that car is underwarranty but with service like that, so careless, that's why I don't like going to honda or any large dealers, and I'm not cheap. If the book says 3.8qts, then thats what I want. not more not less. I think at the time, the service guy must have put in 4+ qts.
I just happened to have a few Oil filters left but lost the remaining pack of washers. Now I buy Original Honda parts in bulk to last me a few years. I usually take it to my mechanic that I've been using for years and he knows what hes doing. He also explains everything while he's doing the work, also checks all the things under the hood for $10 to $15 bucks including tips (I bring in all items.)

Honestly man, i'm pretty much over doing my own work, and i'm nowhere near 70. The only reason I still DIY, and I mean the ONLY reason, is because I don't trust lube techs to not screw up, and I don't trust mechanics to give accurate diagnosis. The last time I went in to get warranty work done on a car confirmed this for me absolutely, and I haven't gone back to a shop yet. Having been a tech for a few years, I saw some absolute tards come and go out of that place... smh...
I'm even thinking about going to a "performance shop" to get my shocks installed + camber bolts + alignment. This would be the first time in 14 years i've done such a thing.

I have an excellent Tech guy at my dealer. I think he likes the fact an old fart has his Fit tricked out. Had excellent service.
As far as the air and cabin filters go, no way. They want an arm and a leg to replace those. Can get those cheap and replace in two minutes.
But I suppose if things like that really do bug you, then yea you should only do your own service yourself.
You may also in the camp that you're waiting for your car to warm up for minutes until the light goes out before starting out, and went the full MM before changing the "break-in" oil, and are shaking your head at those that changed their oil early against the Owner's Manual's directive.
There are far worse things the tech that make an actual difference.
Anyhoo, here's a protip:
if you like using OEM, when you get your car, get however many filters and washers you see yourself need. When you get your order, tape one to each filter or throw it in the box and then close up each box. Then it's ready to go and you can't lose a bag of anything. Each filter/washer is ready to go.
ok, as a new fit ( and Honda ) owner, ill ask this.. Why is Honda different>? Why is it not just a simple oil change.. Oil, Filter, done? NOT that its a big deal, but is there a reason they cant be like every other company, and just have a rubber seal/washer/grommet on the plug?

If you then ask why don't they use standard (imperial) such as 3/8" on all their bolts/sockets "like every other company", then this is saying more about your car maintenance experience then it does about honda.

Ive only owned GM... I now ( within 2 weeks ) have a 2003 altima se 3.5, and a 2009 honda fit... Not saying its bad, just odd... the GM 3.8 motor imo is better than any import motor ive seen... GM underbuilt the car to last, and is widely considered one of the best motors ever made..
Im used to american cars, where its just .... simple?
