If I remember correctly the brake pad service limit honda specifies is 1.7mm (might be 1.5). I pulled them off before they got to 2mm. The audible wear sensor on the inside pads will start wailing at 2mm (I measured this on the old pads). So there's a comfortable margin after they start making that grinding noise.

Great idea for vacuuming out the brake fluid. This didn't occur to me and I have a marine oil change pump lying around from West Marine. The Sea Ray has moved on to other waters but I still have water skis as well. Wonder if I can use those with the Fit?

Got 150K miles, still got plenty of my original brakes left. They will go at least 200K. Mostly highway miles.

To take the guess work out of the flush, less waste and a higher performance brake fluid switch to ATE Super Blue. When the line runs blue you know all the old fluid is flushed. For your next change after that switch to ATE Typ 200 amber fluid for another easy color change.

Dont forget to change your clutch fluid also.
