I get that as a picture, its neat; however, this just furthers my believe that old people should need to get their fitness to drive re-evaluated.

 

Err, I mean poor fit! lol.

 

It was on ABC News just now, it is kind of funny, though!

 

I think it goes to show that despite the subcompact hatches being marketed to the youth market; in reality they are super practical for older drivers as being much easy to drive, park, and generally easier to operate compared to the overly high tech luxury land yachts that are the traditional stereotype for Seniors.

 

You know how us Fit drivers enjoys a photo op! Just glad the Fit protected them.

 

I think you are right on. Most of the newer fit drivers I see around here are older folk. Hopefully manufacturers will still provide nice basic automobiles in the future (no fancy knobless A/V and climate controls etc).


p.s. probably easier said than done but if I were that guy up on top of the car I would climb in, pop the hatch, lay down the magic seats and extract woman.

You guys remember when the original Scion Xb came out? Marketed to younger folks, but a lot of older folks bought 'em, cuz they were so practical. Same with the Fit, I think. I see a lot of Fits around Phoenix, and a lot of the drivers are.... older. (Yeah, like me HA)

Don't assume that every white haired driver is at fault. Chances are he was avoiding a much younger person texting.
While some elders suffer impairment others are very sharp and careful drivers.
Thank God that he is safe.

I've got nothing against old people....but MOST are HORRIBLE drivers.

Every time I ride with my great grandparents...I realize I should've written a will.

 

I could not agree more on the re-testing after a certain age. I watched an older gentleman yesterday try to get gas in his Lexus. I was like 5 cars back in line and by the time I was leaving, he still hadn't started pumping (he was the reason there was a line). He just was hunched over fiddling with the gas cap.

I was driving my '13 Base AT on a very curving road much faster than my wife liked and I really can't understand how you could turn it over on a level surface.
The old lady must have special skills.
