Dumb Question

We have a 2012 Fit, the one with the automatic and the optional manual with paddle shifter. Our car comes with a "Warranty Forever", which dictates required maintenance to be valid. The stealership does not have any official list from the "Warranty Forever" people for the required maintenance, but told us to go off of Edmunds or our owners manual. They do have *their* list of suggested maintenance, which the guy said has a few extras.

Anyhoo, on the list is a differential service. Guy says we don't need that because it's not an AWD. Is this true - is there no differential?

We had some issues with the service guy, so I don't trust him completely.

There is a differential, but it's an integral part of the transmission unit (hence they are sometimes called "transaxles") and would be covered by transmission maintenance. You don't have any additional maintenance to perform on it.

Suggest, find another Honda stealership, sounds funny that word ... hehehe

You can keep the warranty even if you change the dealer

The official list of required maintence is with the owhers manual set of booklets. If you don't have it, get one off the internet, ebay, Amazon whatever. Get your own.
The dealership lied to you. He has those official HONDA service and schedules on his dashboard. His list might be a trifle self-serving.

Read your owner's manual. The chapter on maintenance. Your car has an electronic maintenance minder that shows a service code when it gets down to 15% of oil life remaining. The codes are in your book. If anyone tells you there is extra required maintenance, it's not a Honda recommendation (or requirement).

Keep receipts. It shouldn't matter for your warranty who does the work (even you can if you want).
