OEM window visor installation

I just received my OEM window visors from Amazon and after going over the instructions....they aren't very clear. I looked it up on Youtube but the installer was going too fast for me to see and understand.

So I ask, are they difficult to install and is there any place where the instructions are more cut and dry? I have never had visor like this with so many pieces. I've only had the ones the adhere with tape.

Thanks.

OK, I've got ONE (left rear) on and what a PITA it was! But I at least have a better understanding of what needs to be done and know it will look great when I am finished. I had to quit because it's 11:30pm and have work in the morning.

Growing up to be a responsible adult is the stupidest thing I've ever done!

I have the oem replica visors, and I just tossed the little mounting brackets away. I just used the tape to hold it on and so far its been fine. Trust me if someone wants them bad enough they will get them one way or another.

Did yours come with some little pieces of sticky felt that are supposed to be inserted into the rubber molding of the doors? Mine did but for the life of me cannot see what purpose they serve.

Well, I am as done as I am gonna be!

Who on earth came up with the idea of these stupid clips, primarily the little push button tabs? Not only are they not made to be re-used but you don't get any extras! I ended up needing to re-use 3 of them because the holes didn't line up 100% and ended up cutting my thumb with an Xacto knife trying to accommodate "re-use". And I also dropped one and can't find it. ARGH!

I hope nobody notices one is missing!

I believe the pieces of foam are to keep the window from buffeting when it is down. Not 100% sure but I did add them to my car on install.

I installed mine when I first got the car and they were a PITA. I watched the video on YT to get an idea of what I was up against and came away scratching my head. I started with the right rear so that if I were to mess up it wouldnt be that noticeable. I used a wax crayon to help line up the brackets, took my time and they came out really good. Took me like 2 hours to do all 4 visors. Bad thing is I'm an auto tech and do these things for a living lulz

Understood. I work until 6pm and although I have a lighted garage, it can still make things difficult doing it at night. It took me 3 days! LOL The frustration wouldn't allow me to just "keep going"...

Interesting. I couldn't see any reason to add them although I did add it to one side when I began. We'll see how it works later on albeit I NEVER have my rear windows down.

Worse comes to worse...I can add it later. Have a strip left over.

I don't see the PITA part that you guys are all talking about. My installation took about 20 minutes on a poorly lit street and they turned out great. No missing push pins or clips, though I completely ignored the foam inserts that doesn't look like it has any effect

I also left out the foam pieces upon install and it has not caused any issues, just make sure you get the metal brackets in place the shine a flash light through the holes to make sure they line up correctly, also as shown on the youtube video, peel only the corners of the adhesive until completely mounted, then pull the rest of the tape off the adhesive just in case you need to readjust.

Once you get the first one on, the rest will be a piece of cake.
Good luck!

The sticky felt pads are to keep the rear glass from rattling back and forth when window is partially open. what it does is preload the glass in the tracks (kind of squeezes on he glass in the rubber tracks) so it doesnt wobble when the glass isnt fully down.
