Dumb request

Could I trouble someone, that has never removed their spare tire to snap a couple pics of the spare tire area. I bought my car used and the spare had been used. Does the jack just sit between the tire and the rear of the car?

if you're thinking it squeezes next to the spare, it doesn't. It stands on its own under the overhanging part that the hatch latches onto. Basically, there's a space you don't see when looking at the spare from outside, you have to lean in to look.

To secure it you have to "jack" it into position. Basically, stand it there, then turn the jacking part (where you would normally put the hook end of the tool) by hand until it presses up against the overhang

Thanks! That makes sense, I was concerned about it bouncing around and damaging the well area

You have a spare? My GE Sport did not come with one. I forget what the other levels came with or without a spare.

Not a dumb request at all

I bought mine CPO and noticed they didn't put anything back correctly. I went one step beyond and wrapped things in bubble wrap so there would be less vibration sound from things moving around

Would have been nice if the tool kit came inside some type of foam insulation like most cars

Here's a quick picture of what Goobers described pretty well. This is looking backwards-ish from the middle-ish of the car. (The broom and jumper cables are not original equipment, of course.)

Nice to see folks with some creative use of the spare rim for storage. I have the patch kit in the rim of my spare so depending on what's needed I can either temp patch or put the spare on.
