Honda wheel locks...are they all the same?

I'm looking at buying Honda wheel locks online. All of the wheel locks I see have a similar pattern and I am wondering if all of them are the same? If that's the case, what's the point of the wheel lock when every other Honda owner/thief has the same key?

Nope. They vary slightly BUT from what I see at work there's like a 1 in an 8 to 10 chance of having a matching wheel lock (unless the manufacture rotates/changes design after so many castings).

This is why there are two particularly thick folded pieces of paper that come in the wheel lock package and go in the lock's pouch. One is the lock production code itself, the other is the mailing info that can be used to order a direct replacement wheel lock for your set.

Hoky smoke, I didn't get anything like that. My locks were pre-installed at the dealer and all I got was a bag with the key and the four lug nuts ... no papers at all.

Might want to talk to them. Inside EVERY wheel lock package are those items listed above. Most techs snatch just the lock and key itself during installation then chunk the rest of the package since it's not visible behind the white plastic lock holding case.

I personally make sure everything wheel lock related is inside ALL the cars I work on.

Thanks for the knowledge. I ended up getting some Gorilla locks from Amazon. I'm assuming they, too, have ~5-8 different key patterns.
