Has anyone ripped their boot on the tie rod?

How long can you drive with no oil/grease inside that boot? I accidently used some plyers to try and undo the ball joint and then i looked down and there was grease everywhere, I think i may have messed up the boot.. altho i don't exactly see any tears or holes anywhere.

Am i good to slap it back on and go? or should i think about replacing it?

I would replace it as soon as possible. Within the next couple of weeks. Road grim will get in there and destroy it.

Get one of these next time.
