Nose always pulling off my 2010; -remove spoiler?
My 2010 Fit keeps getting it's nose loosened and partially pulled off when I'm backing up out of my home because the underneath air dam (or spoiler?) grabs at a road dip and rise in my driveway. I also have to be very careful not to get too close or over a concrete parking block or it will also detach the nose and pull it partially out when backing up!
I'm thinking a solution might be to have my friendly local auto repair guy cut off the bottom spoiler and then sand the remaining front bottom smooth before he re-tightens the nose. -Doubt very much it'll affect the handling as I never drive over 75-80 MPH anyway!
Anyone else have this *&%$#* nose detaching problem?
And what did you do about it?
Thanks,

Well, there's only so many angles you can get when backing out of a narrow driveway with cars parked on either side of your exit path! So this solution doesn't come close to working for me...
While it's about the best car I've ever had (and I'm 78 and have had dozens!), I do think the way they designed the underneath front part of this 2010 Fit is seriously flawed, to say the least!

Never thought about that; I always drive in forward and back out. I do seem to ~scape~ bottom somewhat less when pulling in, although I do scrape both ways. I'll hafta try backing in to see what difference it makes...
I think I'm still going to take it to the local body&fender guy for bottom shaving tho. He's a real nice guy who's done very fair work for me in the past. -He removed, fixed and reinstalled a jammed driver's seat [small rock jammed in slide track] in the Fit for just $20, so I know he's certainly honest and ethical..!
Because my wife and I would still have the problem when we forget and pull in a bit too close over a parking bump-stop. It's a much too easy easy thing to forget, until you back out again and then it's ~crrruunnch~ and the nose joints separate again and the nose *&%$#%* loosens again!!

It'd be an expensive solution, but this might work or you could pour concrete to replicate this:

I have the same problem-the lip to our driveway is too steep and if I back straight out, the spoiler/air dam scrapes. If I back in, and drive out at an angle, no scraping. Sometimes it's not possible because people park on both sides of the driveway and I can't come out at a good angle, but it's worth a shot.
