What should I ask for my Fit when I decide to sell?
What should I ask for my Fit when I decide to sell?
Just taking a poll to see what people would think a reasonable asking price for my 2010 fit sport would be when I go to sell it.
Location: I live outside of Boston (location matters sometimes)
Condition: 150,000 miles, still in excellent shape inside and out (some scratches on the super thin paint - to be expected with age and mileage.
Accidents: Had one accident (hit and run while away on my honeymoon - dented the hatch and needed to be replaced).
Maintenance: Always well maintained. Never had a mechanical issue.
Brand new rotors, drums, pads and shoes.
Brand new battery
Recent tune up
Brand new set of all season tires bought in Nov.
Extras: Tinted glass, roof rack, 4 newish blizzak snow tires on a full set of used OEM rims with less than 8k miles on them.
I was thinking around 5k would be reasonable.

I had a 2010 Honda Fit Sport, and it was IMO a great vehicle. In some ways I liked it better than my 2016.
The fact that I think the 2010 was part of a great incarnation of The Fit, should help in resale.
If I lived in your area, and was not invested into a nearly brand new Fit? I'd be interested.
Good Luck.
I liked my 2010 so much....my first reaction is...just keep it and keep driving it....forever.

I don't really want to sell it (its more of a necessity) and I plan on keeping it for a while longer (its not at 150k miles yet)...but I want to sell it while I can still get some $ for it. I would keep it forever if it wasn't so uncomfortable. The seats don't do a very good job of supporting my long legs and the ride is pretty choppy (as you are aware) so it makes my hour long commute (each way) pretty uncomfortable. I also want something with awd, remote start, heated leather seats and a sunroof on my next vehicle. Winters suck where I live.
thanks kenchan...if I could get $5k for it I'd be ecstatic. That would mean I would have owned it for 6 years / 87k miles and paid only $6k (bought it for $11k) not counting the extras I bought (roof rack, wheels, snow tires, tint etc).
Black Book Trade-In as of 08/04/2017
Clean/Average/Rough
$5,110/$4,185/$2,850
5k not unreasonable. This is trade value for 2010 Sport, Auto trans, no Nav
I'd ask 5500 private party, and negotiate from there...
