New fit owner 2009 Honda fit 65k miles clean title
Hey guys, I'm new to this forum I just purchased an 09 automatic Honda fit with 65k miles with a clean title. It was messy when i I bought it so I had some cleaning to do. I've replaced the steering wheel cover, black tape trim above the windows, limo rear and dark front tint, new bridgestone Ecopia422 175/65/15 tires, a new battery, cabin and engine air filters, and new replica hubcaps. I had to vacuum the hell out of the car and clean the carpet and cloth seats with turtle wax carpet cleaner. So far I'm very happy with the car except for it has dents I cannot do anything about. Overall I paid 5700$ after registering and restoration/safety mods.
Any future advice or suggested mods are appreciated. It's a commuter for me and my hopes are it will be a hassle free car up to 200k miles

Headlight sanding
I've also polished the right headlight but was getting spidering from the clearcoat application. Any help is appreciated. I used 400, 800, 1500, and 2000 grit prior to using plastic non yellowing clearcoat from rustoleum.

That head light looks great. I have never tried that we do not seem to keep them long enough to need it. It sure is cheaper than replacing it. Our first Fit was a 2009 sport. We really liked it until my daughter got in to a head on accident, rolled it, and totaled it. Then we got a 2011 which she hit a deer at 55 mph and totaled that one. Now have a 2016.
We really liked the 2009.

Can't beat an 09.
As car so dirty maybe maintance was not done. Consider brake fluid and tranny fluid. Also oil and filter wouldn't hurt. Check front brakes. May be due for pads and rotors. Otherwise enjoy.
Oh and check with dealer to see if recalls done.

How long did the clearcoat last? And would u recommend It?

I'm not sure exactly. I used it on our Fit and my father in-laws TSX. That was maybe 6 months ago. It's still holding up on our Fit, but only lasted a few months on the TSX. His car sits outside and our Fit is garaged so that is likely the difference.
There's enough in one can to do maybe 8 headlights? I'm sure a can would get you through a year one way or another.

That FIT looks fit! Pretty low mileage for a '09 so if you had to detail it, meh. You probably got a good deal since I've found that people who don't keep their cars clean generally sell at a discount!
I bought two used Fits over 70k miles and the headlights, the paint, the brakes, and the upholstery are the problem areas in this mileage range. Oh and the AC compressor, oh the AC and its' compressor.
I've owned six straight Hondas and I can tell you the paint is something that is problematic across the lines. I try to use a higher end wax like Zymol or P21, and I try to wax twice per year. I'd put some window guards on, the shape of the Fit means you get a lot of water in when it rains and they look good anyway. Tint is crucial since you have a big greenhouse effect in this car and the AC sucks so hard, even when it's fully functional.
Other than that you hit the jackpot for $5700, the Fit is a car that you want to keep coming back to. It is probably the most practical vehicle out there and with Honda transmissions and drivetrains, you'll get out of it what you want. Considering how much more enjoyable the Fit is compared to its competitors in this class, it's really a no-brainer. I swear my next new car is an F-150 with all the trimmings, but the Fit is just the best compromise in a life full of compromises.
Enjoy and keep us updated.
Also @Black3sr that's a fine looking machine, man.

ThanKS for the kind words. Yes im stoked for paying only 5700. This is also registering the car, paying for the smog check AND buying new tires and tint. The vehicle selling price was 4750.
I've heard this car goes over 200k miles easily with major mechanical issues.
I bought new LED headlights is my last upgrade.
