Lightbulb JDM '09 Fit has Refresh Mode?!

Does anyone know why common knowledge on this site has been that there is no refresh mode in the '09s? Is this only in the USDM models, or is everyone just overlooking that it's still there? I found this evidence on the Honda Japan site:

http://www.honda.co.jp/Fit/interior/seat/index.html

ps- I do not own an '09. I am a proud '08 owner who is really bored.

I will take pictures of me attempting to put it in refresh mode tomorrow, I mean maybe it can be done but I think I along with others have tried with no avail.

The JDM GE seats are not as tall as the USDM ones.. also the head rest design is a bit different too..

Do the rear seats recline very much? Enough for someone to take a nap on a road trip? I don't have my fit yet.

No, they only recline a couple inches.

those couple of inches rock! https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-generation-ge-08-13/31220-interesting-facts-little-stuff.html

as for refresh mode like the GD's, it's a no go.

our seats are too fat and tall.

No refresh mode, but it will almost go. If you can live with a 4" hump, it'll still work. When you lay the front seat back, it's just a little too tall, so it won't go flush with the rear seat. You can still sit refresh style, I just don't know how comfortable it is with that 4" hump.

Well, there is sort of a refresh mode, with some caveats.

As previously mentioned, there is the hump in the lower back, and the seatback is too tall to lie flush with the back seat. However, if you put the back seat into tall mode, the front seat will recline completely. Another caveat is that unless you are a short person, you will hit your head on the bottom of the raised back seat. So, to summarize, if you are short, lift the back seat, don't mind the seatback hump pushing your back into an unnatural contortion, with your legs crammed into the dash - you have a fully functional refresh mode. Wow. It would be more comfy to drop the back seats down and rest in the cargo area. Or get a motel room.

yeah... i was just hanging out in refresh mode yesterday. personally i wouldn't trade it for a couple more inches of shoulder padding. I'm 6' and I've never thought "these seats really could use a higher seatback". It may not be sleepable but it's very chillable.

Question

Would a swap of GD3 seats to the GE8 work?

Since the GD3 seats are shorter, and thinner, by swapping out the seats would that make refresh mode work?

I'm thinking of just changing out the passenger side if this works, mainly for moving/storage reasons.

I have no idea if the GD3 seats will work in the GE8. If you can somehow get a JDM GE8 seat it will work, as shown in the link in the OP.

JDM seats would work but GD# seat have narrower rails and won't just bolt up. The new fit uses seat rails from the Accord as far as width.
