New and Improved Grill Emblem

I was hating that chrome so much so i decided to paint my emblem.
It's basically flat black paint. I sanded down the chrome a little and then gave it a couple of coats of paint. very simple.

I would also love to get ride of the chrome headlights but there is no way I could do that oven stuff.
Maybe the base Fit lights. Or get someone to do the oven thing for me. And while there at it they can take out that god awful orange reflector out of there.

I did this to my emblems on my gd3. Mine were glossy black to kinda match my nhbp fit.

I think it looks great. Maybe the satin--whichever one is between matte and shiny--would have matched the grill a little more, but I like the fact there is still a small bit of contrast between the two.

I don't think you will find many people on this forum to like it though, too many people are attracted to shiny things and additional badges.

I kinda like it...but I wonder if it would look better with some more contrast like mentioned above.
I wonder how a flat silver would look...make it similar to your ssm.

Doesn't look bad, but kinda looks like the "H" emblem is now missing. Gloss black may blend better? Hmm.

Oh btw, i love the garage floor. I've been wanting to do that to mine forever. Did you do it yourself? What kind of solvent/degreaser did you use before painting?

Yeah I unshared the web album on Picasa that had them. I'm going to take new pics after I wash the car today.

I think that you should paint a matte contracting color behind the H. like red or orange and have a couple other spots on the car to match that. imo.

looks good. i did mine satin black to match the rest of the black plastic on my grill. make sure to do the rear too so you dont have one black and one chrome.

I also like that. Nice subtleness of flat black on the grill. Different from the red badges and/or stock ones.

did you remove the emblem then paint it, or just tape everything up and spray
