Is it normal when driving uphills, my car speed slows down so fast and it is so hard to climb uphills? And engine makes really loud noise... is there anything wrong with the engine?

if you're on a manual, shift down a gear or two, maybe 3 depending on how steep and speed.

if you're on a AT, then it will automatically down shift to the appropriate gear.

either way your engine will rev higher which is normal.

The Fit is SLOWWW, especially when you have another person in the car. It's normal to have to downshift a gear or two when climbing hills or inclines.

Whatever you used to drive, the Fit probably has a lot less power. It has to work a lot harder to get things done.

I think it is normal. You have to realize that our Fits are only 1.5L, 117HP engine. Not even considering hills, I am sure you noticed how slow it is for the Fit to get the pick-up speed when you merging onto lanes on the highway.

I find shifting down to third in my Auto and keeping my foot in it I have no trouble merging. Heck I even have to slow sometimes. It feels good around 5-5500 rpms
