I have a 2009 Honda Fit Sport. I noticed a grinding coming from one of the belt pulleys. I normally do my own work, but due to time constraints I took it into a local independent shop. They isolated the noise to the compressor pulley and quoted me $1450 to replace the entire compressor as well as the belt, and the plugs. I asked if they could just replace the pulley with the bad bearings and they told me "no it is all one piece and, the parts are hard to find, so even if I could find them, I couldn't replace just that part"

I'm I getting smoke blown at me or is this true. I know the AC compressor clutch is a separate unit and can be replaced separately, but is there another pulley that's part of the compressor that I'm unaware of?
