Just finished lining up my audio. JL 500v1 and a single 10w6. Not the happiest about the setup, but it'll do for now.

Your not label whoring for the whole build though. Your air ride setup is nice and I cant wait to see it low. Are you going to be using coilovers as a base for it?

 

I want to use the coilovers as a base, but there's none here that I like besides the HKS....and the HKS is a pretty expensive coilover. The only other option is D2, but not sure how I feel about that.

Maybe I should just man up and order the HKS.

 

how about the skunk2 coilovers? i heard nothing but good comments on those

 

Yeah, I want to do air as my next major mod. I need to find coilovers as a base but I dont want to spend a ton of money.

He has a GE and Im assuming that Skunk2 does not make them as of yet as he only mentioned HKS and D2

 

Well I mean there are other options - KW is out, F2 has their prototype. There's the ground control sleeves - but no aftermarket struts yet... Problem is, D2 goes the lowest, unless we import some from Japan.

If you want to run coilovers as a base and not spend a lot of money, maybe I'll take one for the team and order the D2 coilovers tomorrow. If i don't like em, I'm pretty sure someone will pick them up - it's not like there's any other options out there to get low.

 

Well its not something that I will be doing within the year. Coilovers are expensive, even the cheaper ones, as I am a college student with no job. So unless I get an Internship during my next summer I have some time to wait for a decent deal to come up on some used ones. I also have a friend of a friend that is in Japan and he could possibly source me some used ones over there but I havent asked yet. Good luck choosing some coilovers. I will be watching this thread to see a Fit air build. I have seen way too many for vdubs.

 

Coils are expensive (even more so, wheels...), but I think that suspension (and wheels) is what makes one's car look as good as it can be. Suspension and wheels are always first on my list of mods.

I tell my customers this every day.

You can have the rarest, craziest, most awesome collection of parts on your car - but at the end of day - its the wheel fitment and stance that make the car.

Maybe tomorrow I'll order them. I think people need answers about these coils.
