Finally got my HKS on.

It is a loooooong story that started back in Jan when I decided I would buy one. My local Dodge dealer where I have dealt for many years installed it today for $29.

Boy we get screwed over on cost of parts shipped to Canada.

Anyhow the old guy is happy today

Damn, I wish I had a pair of headphones/speakers handy here in class lol. It looks great tho. Will have to watch the video again (with sound this time) when I get home.

Where did you purchase it from?

A little vroom vroom will wake everyone up.

Jeff, I got it through Marken Performance here in Kitchener. It may have been just a cheap to have it UPSed from the USA .

WOW... only $29.00? Geez, that's an incredible install price. Congrats on the new HKS.

Maybe the cost of the install made up for the outrageous shipping charges?

So, how does it sound from within the car while idling... while driving? Louder? The same as stock? I'm not interested in a change of sound, per se... I'm asking if there was any increase in volume. If so, how much?

It puuurrrrrrs in your video. Sounds nice from behind the car.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Ahh the sweet sweet sound of the beautiful HKS Hi-Power. IMO, the best sounding exhaust on Hondas.

Annunc8...I've had this exhaust on 2 cars now and so I feel qualified to speak about it.
We often drive to dallas (65 miles or so) and there is ZERO drone at hwy speeds. But drop a gear and get on it, and she just purrs. Inside the car it is barely noticeable until you blip the throttle at idle. Driving through the city, you can hear it but it just sounds like your car has some balls. It is NOT obnoxious or annoying at any time. It's not buzzy or raspy it just has that nice growl. It's obviously louder than stock but not in an annoying or super noticeable way. It just sounds soo nice!

It's plenty loud when you get on it, but I'm even contemplating a b pipe in the future so I can hear it even more ;-) (and have more flow, lol)

Well that is the advantage of a small town Dodge dealer. They know your name. Heck they let me hang around looking over their shoulder when working on my car. How many big city dealers would do that?

Shit no. I am almost embarrassed to say how much it cost.

It is not that loud. Btrthnezr3 describes it very well. I have an Auto tranny so now I can tell when it is shifting gears. Some may find that annoying. The volume goes up and down while driving around town. On the hwy it is fine no drone.

It puuurrrrrrs in your video. Sounds nice from behind the car.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Yup... so I've heard. I just got my Fit yesterday (yes, it finally came in), and I like the sound of this little engine even without any enhancements. I can imagine how it sounds enhanced a little.

Great! I've read many of your posts. I don't have a problem listening... you're as knowledgeable on many subjects as anyone on this forum. If someone with experience such as yourself wants to give answers, that's fine with me... even better! People at this forum such as yourself are why I ask so many questions.

It sounds very nice in videos... and I've seen a lot of HKS Hi-Power vids by now.

I've also heard exactly what you are saying... it midly barks when you want it to, and it also purrs when you want it to. Or rather, "If you want to hear it, you can. If you don't want to hear it, it kinda' disappears in the background." That's a direct quote from someone.

And no, I don't care for the loud, buzzy/raspy sound... at least not in a normal street environment. If someone likes it, that's fine... it's just not my driving pref.

Will the b-pipe take away that "sweet" tone of the HKS (I'm not talking about the volume... I'm talking about its tone), or will it just enhance it and/or make it louder?

A completely ignorant question on my part- What's the real reason for the HKS [or others] if it isn't particularly sound altering, and/or it doesn't really give any added boost? Or, does it? Why spend the extra bucks if it does little except mildly change the tone? I mean, that's ok too if that's what one likes. Actually, I'm just curious to know the main reasons for wanting the HKS or other aftermarket exhausts.

Thanks, BTE.

BTW, I didn't know how much I would actually like the Fit besides having a ride to screw around with and of course, for decent fuel economy. But I gotta' say, this car is not only a blast to drive, there is something about this little monster that's causing me to be pretty darned enamored with it, already. Never thought I'd hear myself say that about a so-called "econo-box."

I think I'm becoming addicted (already) to this little large-eyed auto with the unique personality!

YouTube - 09 FIT AT HKS HI POWER
Heh! I've seen and posted the one above, and one other video from that guy. I like the two vids of his I've seen (does he have more Fit-related vids?). The two were actually instrumental in my decision to try a Fit Sport. They're decent vids for Fit enthusiasts... at least I think they are.

If you know that guy, then thank him for me. While I was still undecided on whether to buy a Fit, or a couple of other cars, I must have watched his two vids at least 4 times each.

Not many. Unless you're a female. Most in the U.S. -- in larger cities anyway -- would have quickly said, "Hey, what'r you's doin'? Get tha _ _ _ _ outa' hehhhhh!"

LMAO! Oh man, now you have to tell how much it cost! (j/k) Ah well, I hope you at least get years of enjoyment from the HKS.

Thanks for the cool exhaust report!

Lol! Just in case you're worried, I meant besides yourself, nearly the only people who get to stand around and watch mechanics actually do work these days are females!

I wasn't inferring anything in your general direction!
