Need Opinions on Wheels. *IMAGES FIXED*

Did a quick Photoshop of these wheels I purchased and placed them on an image I took of my Blue Sensation.

They are XXR 518 wheels, brand new, in the boxes, never been mounted... got them for, you ready? Got them for $35.00 each! Yes, brand new, in the original boxes. A friend bought them for his ride, got a great deal on another ride he's always wanted, so sold them to me for almost nothing.

Even if I don't mount them I can sell them for at least twice what I paid for them. I kinda' like them though. (Wish they were black chrome finish... but who's complaining at this point!)

MyFit_XXR518.jpg?t=1296933885

BlueSensi_XXR518.jpg?t=1296933935

So I photoshopped the actual pic of my ride, and I also included a rendition of my GE with the wheels from a popular tire/wheel site.

Need Fit Freak opinions on how they look.

Hey, no frickin' hate, you clowns... just gimme' your opinion on how you think they look on the ride! I respect [most of] your opinions!

Thanks, folks!

Hootie... I don't know what happened, but I did it all again and the images posted! Anyway, thanks for the help, Hootie.

Nothing has changed in the image coding.

Try right clicking the image and either click view image or open in new tab. This should just show the image by itself.

Once there, make sure the link ends with ".jpg", ".gif", or another format for images and cut/copy the link. Go to the post box, click this icon and paste the link. Click preview and you should see the image.

For $35 a wheel, who can complain. Rock 'em if you dig the look.

Wow...

WOW! Only one opinion out of 77 or more views?

Geez... normally, when someone asks for an opinion on this site people come out of the woodwork in order to respond.

Does one have to be a member of a certain FitFreak "clique" in order to get opinions around here? (I don't need no stinking clique! )

Was those 77 or more views before or after you fixed the link?

The wheels look good on your BSP. A bit too flashy for me though.

If you're up for repainting them I think Duplicolor has makes black chrome spray paint.

Well, there isn't much to say... if it isn't rubbing or causing other issues... I'm with Hayden

^^ Pretty much...which brings the question. What are the wheel's specs? (Diameter, width, offset, etc.)

Yeah, I mean, I'd at least put them on for a little while if they are the right size. Or even if they aren't. Enjoy life - have FUN!

edit: I don't think they look too bad actually. I like how the line comes all the way out to the tire in a similar way the Sport 16s do, which give them the illusion of being a little bigger than they are in my opinion. Specs!

Thanks for all replies... appreciated.

Wheels:

Machined: 16" - 6.5 - 40 offset

I know some people don't like the sound of a 40 offset for the Fit... but I've been told it will be fine on the GE. This is still new in some ways to me, so input is welcomed.

Any other opinions, feel free!

Thanks again.

If the black chrome spray looks close to how a factory black chrome wheel finish would look, then that may be a serious option.

Great idea.

*UPDATE*

Duplicolor does in fact make a black chrome wheel-specific paint. This may turn out to be even better than expected.

Dupli-Color :: Shadow

Very cool!

Hey, I think they look fine. And without sounding like simply a cheap Bastard...at $35.00...yes, how can you go wrong?

But all the opinions in the world...and all the savings in the world won't matter if YOU don't like them.

If you aren't sold on them...actually my advice might be to purchase them anyway and use them as a winter set of wheels and/or an emergency set....

But bottom line, get what you want. If everytime you approach your vehicle you are going to be thinking "Meh"...or I wish I liked those wheels better....then the savings will not be worth it...

For me, I think they look fine. But I drive on Stock Sports Rims...which I like...
But if these represent an upgrade for you? Only you can determine the line inwhich you would be happy....

And sometimes I think if you need to ask the question, then that in of itself becomes the answer.....If you liked them enough...you wouldn't want or need others opinions...

Those wheels would look mint in that color.

The thing about +40 offset wheels, they won't rub with the factory recommended size of 185/55R16 due to the tire's width but the downfall of that size is the tire selection. On the other hand if you were to change over to a 205/50R16, you'd have a wider selection of tires and more mechanical grip but the downfall is that the additional 10mm of tire sticking away from face of the wheel (the visible side when looking at the car) could rub at stock height without any fender/bumper modifications.

I'd have a hard time deciding between those and the standard sport rims, which I think are really nice. If you live in a wintery place (90% of america at the moment) you could rock one set with winter tires and another for summer.

the 6.5" width should help pull a 205 under there. Hell, that's the exact rim size I'd go with if I did an upgrade, but at +45 or higher. And then with a 215 width on there.

FWIW, I like 'em. I'd put them on my BSP if I had them.

edit: and they weight 16.5 lbs. Lighter than the stock ones! Do it!

I'd rock them on my ORM Fit for sure I like the look, but all that really matters is that if you like the look or not. I really like the look of my stocks, which means I'll continue to rock them until....whenever :P
