Schoat333's Crystal Black Pearl 2011 Fit sport

Now that I'm in the right subforum....

This thread will be used to show the progress of my Fit. I plan to do several mods, so this thread might get a little photo heavy.

Day 1

I traded that ugly Patriot in for her.

Day 3

Had some nice weather, so I took some brand new photos.

I got the CAI off e-bay for $240 shipped. I just got the part # from Injens site, and searched for it on e-bay.

Still haven't had a chance to hear the intake yet, still finishing another project first.

I put just over 100 miles with the intake on over the weekend. It definately gives the engine a more throaty sound starting around 4000rpm and up. Only with WOT tho. If you drive it normal, you don't hear any difference.

It appears as tho my gas mileage has improved quite a lot actually. I usually average around 35-36 mpg on my morning commute, but today I avgeraged 41.2mpg. I will see how this changes over the entire week, but it looks pretty promising so far. Of course, this was keeping my foot out of it. I imagine if you like to hear the sound of the intake, your going to cost yourself some mpg.

Ok, I know this thread is supposed to be about mods for my fit, but I am still waiting for a few things to be delivered, so I thought I'd share some of my import history with you.

The first car I ever modded was a 2003 corolla S. Nothing special, just a 1.8L 5 speed manual. It was slow as balls stock, but didn't stay that way.

Here she is.

Under the hood. TRD supercharger, with a long list of extras.

Tuned with this

Anyways, as you can see, I get the mod bug real bad.

Heres a short video

Back to the Fit

OK, we finally had a nice day, so I was able to clean the Fit, and take a few pics.

As requested, a close, and farther away pic of the headlights.

Rear wiper mod done.

Thanks!

I used duplicolor adhesion promoter as a primer, and then put three coats of Krylon semi-flat black enamel on them.

Got bored, and decided to do a few dumb DIY mods.

There is a fair amount of argument if these mods are a waste or not. I've had good results in the past, so there was no reason not to try them on the fit. I will be going with a trubo, s/c, or maybe both at some point, and thats where these mods should really be helpful.

The first mod required removing the intake, and throttle body.

There are a few rough edges inside the TB that I decided to smooth.
In this picture, you can see the lip on the inlet side.

In this one, you can see the lip on the outlet side.

I got out the dremmel, and went to work. I started with a rough grit wheel, and moved up to fine grit, finally finishing off with a little hand smoothing. The lips are now gone, and its a smooth flow in and out.
