Fun driving roads you have driven...
Purpose of the thread, to just show some images of fun driving roads you have personally driven. Pictures you have taken or a Google map or equivalent overhead shot works also.

Videos work, but as much as I want to post some I've taken, a bit reluctant because Japan police have hammered a few people already for incriminating themselves.
I never really take photos, maybe next drive will just do photo mode on the GoPros.

I'll just copy what was in the other thread to start. Want to make better, more detailed ones. Can't give away all the secrets though. I don't think some of the areas would like any more things screaming down their roads, and google has an amazing ability to find threads like this. In the last pic, with the really green foliage, the people sanded a section of the road to discourage fast driving.
This is the typical road and scenery of the hill country hwys that get to the great spots.

Here's a popular one. Just a section, overhead view.

One of favorite in-town turns. Few miles from where I grew up.

A few miles from there.

Popular area, few miles outside of town.

And my favorite. Once again, just skirting town. A mile away from my brother's old neighborhood. Very twisty. Not many photos. Yes this is TEXAS.

Very typical hill country turn. Watch out for deer and branches!
Google Maps
This turn near a friends house is like a benchmark.

This is great!!! I also copied/paste from other thread.I have fun but always respect the locals that live in these areas.
We share the mountain roads with both bicycles/motorcycles and I ride both so I'm careful.
A couple years ago near San Diego on Ortega hwy someone put oil down in several blind curves to discourage sportbike riders from speeding up and down the canyons
This is Decker canyon road in Malibu one of my favorites
I'm about 20min away from some awesome canyon roads and I play in them at least twice a week.

Stunt Road up in Malibu, I used to do the Stunt-Piuma-Mulholland loop almost every weekend 2004-2007 or so (day or night), really miss those days. Also did Tuna Canyon pretty regularly and Topanga Canyon in the late 90's before the road got so congested with traffic.

Moved to OC and started doing Santiago Canyon Rd, which isn't really all that great for technical driving, but it had a few good spots, the cutoff to Live Oak Canyon road was a little more exciting and it looped back to the main via El Toro. Was good for late night last minute cruises if I didn't want to drive an hour to San Gabriel/GMR or Malibu. Wish I had a more exciting picture LOL

The business of life has kept me from doing much in the way of "driving" up here in Nor-Cal, but i'm hoping to try to explore some of the roads up here, i've seen some good ones, just have to get out there.

I like to go during the week when there is little to no traffic

I've been driving these roads for the past 25 years or so
Were you around for Operation Safe Canyon?
Route 100 and 125 across the Middlebury Gap in VT. Always fun, except in the snow.

Nice thread....
I tried to look up the location of some country back road in PA, but can't figure it out with google. Had to take a detour cause of some downed trees, and came up on a nice twisty road. It would've been a great drive if it wasn't pouring, and practically pitch-black since the power went out in that area. The headlights and fogs were decent, but still couldn't see. Somewhere in the area of Strousburg (sp?) off rte 209.

Yeah they lazed me from that overlook parking area a few times when I was coming up but their helicopter already gave them away by the time I got there. Had to cool it for a few months.
Cruising through that parking area real slow with cars and bikes pulled over everywhere... AWKWARD lol
Thanks for sharing.

It was just time to move on to a new platform, something that could be more competitive, which I still haven't gotten yet as I have no place to put it or work on it. Planning on moving into a house next year, so hopefully the saga will continue then.
I loved the car and will remember it always, a ton of fun and tons of memories.
Final form:
That truly is a great route. I have done the first 1/3 several times in multiple vehicles (MR2, M3, RX7 R1). I usually take the turn off for Nipomo though
Did it once just after a winter storm - all the trees in Frazier park had icicles that were parallel to the ground and looked surreal.
Some good ones. Angels Crest was closed for quite a while though. My last few trips up to Canyon Country, I wanted to take this route, but was closed every time.
