205/50's are still on the table. In fact they were my initial choice, but after reading horror stories about tire beads popping off on stretched tires I decided to play it safe. Part of the problem I'm having now is that the tires are too tall as well as too wide, and they're rubbing the inside of the wheel well.
Also, OEM tires on the fit sport are 185/55, no? |

They are, but I was referring to OEM diameter, which 205/50 matches. Take a look here. You generally want to stay withing 2% of OEM diameter. The only way you can pull of a lower diameter is if you are absolutely slammed. You'll notice that your current size is way outside of the 2% parameters.

So I ended up installing some Continental ExtremeContact DW's in 205/50. Rubbing is completely gone. Also dropped the car another half inch and softened the dampening to 5 clicks from full soft. Here, have some god awful, shitty gas station pictures.

I had question, is the Version 2 bar for GE Part#386 477 AN looks like the picture above? because it look different than the one at Bean Garage website picture below: http://cdn1.bigcommerce.com/server45....1280.1280.jpg but I prefer the look from your pictures because that mean it can be used simultaneously with the factory braces (the black brace behind the cusco one on your picture)... also, when you install this 4 point braces, do the subframe/chassis had to be lowered, or unbolting the 4 bolt do not move the subframe/chassis? I prefer if I can just unbolt the 4 bolt and install this Cusco ver 2 myself, but if the subframe/chassis move and I need a subframe stand, than I had to let a shop install it for me... How easy it was to install this Cusco 4 pt braces ? Thanks |
Looking better now! Should have went with a 45 profile so you can go lower. :)
Is there a noticeable difference with the Cusco bars installed? |

The brace will look like the one in my pictures.

It was extremely easy to install, though I was on a lift at a friend's shop. I don't recall having to use a subframe stand, but since I can't remember, I'd have a shop do it, or maybe borrow some extra jack stands or something.

I kinda like the meaty look anyway, and I don't want to go too low, because some of the roads I take around here are just gnarly. There is a slightly noticeable difference with Cusco brace, but I was unable to get the full benefit of the pair, because the transmission mount on the automatic Fits prevents the Version 1 brace to be installed. If you want a Version 1 kinda of brace that fit AT Transmission, then you should buy T1R 2 point brace, They fit car with AT Transmisison. A poster named FitMugen had installed it on his car: Here is a single post related to that question from me: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/1166856-post243.html and here is the pictures of his install: Attachment 19174 Unfortunately T1R (AJ Racing) do not have this bar in stock anymore and the group buy they arrange on this forum and CR-Z forum fails because lack of people actually pay the deposit. I knew because I contact them and want to buy the T1R 2 point bar and they can not produce it since not enough people sign up for the group buy... |
Oof. This car. These wheels. I like where this has gone.
   |
It's look like the Ultra Racing 2 point lower arm bar will also fit AT transmission car since they design the bar to go under that black rubber joint like the T1R bar design.
It's Ultra Racing part# UR-LA2-506 http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDUwWDYwMA...Jymw~~60_3.JPG |

Been a while. Haven't done anything to the car other than maintenance. Finally got around to washing and waxing the car, and spent all of Sunday getting some pictures taken, courtesy of my good friend and his DSLR.
