Did a bit of test fitting to verify how much fender work is in store.
Definitely rolling and pulling fronts and rears, and gonna space the front fenders a bit with some washers or something. But god damn, shit is gonna look fancy-fly when it's done. Attachment 20957 Attachment 20958 Got the camber bolts installed as well, so gonna get an alignment here soon. I've read that some people can achieve up to -4 degrees of camber with the bolts, but we'll see. |
That would look sweet!:wiggle:

Wow...can't wait to see the full car shots of the Compes.

Nice wheels.

Well, after two solid days (including day one ending at 1 a.m.) my friends and I finished work on the car.
Attachment 20898 Attachment 20899 Attachment 20900 Attachment 20901 Attachment 20902 Now for the bad news: They didn't fit :violin: There was way too much rubbing both front and rear, even with spacing the front fenders out almost an inch, rolling and pulling, and camber bolts maxed out (so far as we could tell). They were also rubbing on the inside of the wheel well while turning, and on less than full lock. It was just too much meat with the car lowered. We even ended up hammering and grinding the inside of the well where it was rubbing and cut most of the fender liners away. So we ended up taking out the B&G springs and putting the stock ones back in. SMALL SUZUKI-ESQUE 4X4 MODE ACTIVATED: Attachment 20903 Attachment 20904 At least the wheels look fucking great. We figure going with 205/50's or even 215/45's next time around would resolve a good chunk of the rubbing issues. I'm just glad it's drivable now. |
You're gonna need smaller tires. 225/50 is way to big for that height. Try 205/40 or /45 next time.

ERPDERT:
Attachment 20091 Attachment 20092 Attachment 20093 Yes it says GD3. But, a few people on here have/had these on their GE, so we'll see. Got custom rates, 7k front 6k rear. DISGONBEGUD.gif |
Is that the "Extreme Low" set up?

I just installed the BC coil overs on my GE8 2 weeks ago and the box said it was for GD3, but with a little modding, they'll fit. Keep in mind there are no provisions for the wheel speed sensors or the flex lines for the front so you'll have to Macguyver something to ensure no rubbing. The rear shocks are a bit of a pain in the balls too, but again, some modding and they'll fit.
Good luck! |

Coils in! Sorry about the shit-tier pictures, and the stank nasty car. Tomorrow is detail day.
Attachment 20009 Attachment 20010 I have the dampers set at 15 clicks from soft, and I only rub with four people in the car while taking corners aggressively. It can still go a tad lower without increasing the rubbing too much, but I'll keep it as-is until I get some less meaty tires on. The BC's ride quite nice as well. Again, the dampers are set at about medium stiff, with 7k/f and 6k/r spring rates. We first tried 5 clicks south of full stiff, but it had that bouncy effect. It rides a lot better than my B&G springs, that's for damn sure. Also, body roll is almost completely gone. BCRacing gets a thumbs up as far as I'm concerned.:thumbups: |

A lot of meat on those tires I am surprised with 16x8 wheels that there is that much side wall then it may be the angle of the picture. Always looking at wider wheels but the low offsets have been putting me off. Keep up the work enjoy seeing mods.

Thanks! Yeah, the tires are really meaty. 225/50's. Next time around I'm going with 205/45's. The meat is nice, but too much on a lowered Fit.

Why not go with the OEM sized 205/50/16? 205/45 will be too small.
Also, OEM tires on the fit sport are 185/55, no? |
