Lol we were talking about both. The monkey bars work great, even on stock suspension. The Cusco under brace will be installed Friday, and I'll update with how it handles before I actually get the springs on there. Also, I've got the 2-point brace coming in a week or two, so I'll update with that one as well.

anyone do the front swaybar? just curious ..

BlueBoogers Dec 9, 2012 02:49 PM

Any updates in the cusco front?

Nickocosmic Dec 9, 2012 08:45 PM

No, not yet. :( The plans to install everything fell through, so it's looking like this coming Saturday is when the install will happen. Sorry for the delay, gents.

UPDATE

Just came in:

Planning on installing everything tonight.

BlueBoogers Dec 13, 2012 12:48 PM

Center bolt on PS sucks to get in. I usually don't even bother with it because I don't want to pull that spring nor pry up on the bottom perch spacer.

Nickocosmic Dec 13, 2012 10:47 PM

Alright, got mostly everything installed. Can't do the brakes yet as the wheels don't clear the calipers. :(

Before the fun began:

First up, rear springs and RSB:

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/pict...pictureid=7059

Verified that the sport comes with a rear sway bar already, welded to the frame. It's just above the Progress one, sort of housed in the metal half-tube you see in the above picture.

Then, it was on to the front springs and the Cusco brace:

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/pict...pictureid=7061

Also noted that the version 1 Cusco brace must replace the dark gray 2-point one in the above picture, so I'm not sure how much good it'll do.

And finally, the absolute worst night shot taken by anybody, ever:

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/pict...pictureid=7062

I'll be taking more and better pictures either tomorrow or Saturday.

To those curious about the Cusco brace, it helps a lot. Although the front end is already pretty stiff to begin with, the brace just seems to organize the ride a bit more, and plants it in the corners.
I feel much more confident cornering hard and fast. Definitely worth the cash in my opinion. The addition of the springs, RSB, and X-brace make the Fit super grippy in turns, and stabilizes the car at speed.

The B&G S2 springs are pretty good. Great ride, nice drop. Leaves just under a two-finger gap up front, and three in the back. I've been in my friend's Fit with H&R's, and the B&G's are pretty close in performance.
They're a tad bit bouncy, but not enough to warrant a bad mark. Hopefully once everything settles, the bounce will even out.

End result: fun as fuck.

looks good bro, even tho its a little hard to see the end result...keep it up

BlueBoogers Dec 14, 2012 06:16 AM

Good to hear about the Cusco. Too bad you don't have a comparison against before/after with that piece alone.

swflej1 Dec 14, 2012 07:41 AM

He was going to do that but I had a long day, so we skip that idea. His car does feel a little more planted then mine, I'm now thinking of adding this bar or one like it.

BlueBoogers Dec 14, 2012 08:09 AM

If you can feel a difference I'll go ahead and get one. Just need to pull my progress RSB and have them both powdercoated red first

OH THE JOY:vtec:

BlueBoogers Dec 19, 2012 08:13 PM

Interested to hear if it does anything.

Nickocosmic Dec 19, 2012 09:16 PM

I did a bit of research, and I guess it mounts to the control arms? Should help a bunch.

hayden Dec 19, 2012 10:18 PM

My wallet is going to hate you if the other one provides significant changes too.

No strut bar, right? I don't see how it would help as much as these lower ones since the firewall is so close to them. Looking forward to a report.

just a quick question guys... how do you install the jdm rear wiper, and does it come in handy?

Lol, well my apologies for the pain in your wallet. Hopefully it helps a lot, as I'm really liking the way the car is going in terms of handling. And no, I don't have a strut bar. I read the same thing about the proximity to the firewall, so I just took the advice and didn't spend money on one.

What's the difference with the 2012 headlights and the 2009 headlights?
