2009 Honda Fit Sport w/45K miles - $12,500

What's up guys, I'm selling my 2009 Honda Fit Sport - with hard to find manual. I have all Maintenance records available, it has been maintained per the factory since new - all oil changes, recalls, etc. New brakes this spring! Its been my daily driver for the last 2.5 years, so most of the miles are on my 35 mile (per way) commute. In combined city/highway driving I've averaged over 32 MPG documented since 9/10/2009. Will be sold STOCK - here are some pictures from last summer with wheels/headlights/etc:

And this is why I'm not buying a Fit.

(not the OP, the guy who claims he got shafted)

PEOPLE WANT WAY TOO MUCH FOR THEIR FITS.

This is a 15k econocar when new, it shouldn't be selling for 10k+ with 50k miles on a 3-5 year old car. It should be like 6-8k at most IMO.

And people buy them for the fuel mileage....they're not even that good on gas.

I understand that, but that price is still ridiculous. Stuff like this is what causes economic crashes.

Shafted? Doesn't seem like it to me - especially considering a dealership purchased it. Carmax?

Mike I'm sure you have looked around for used cars at dealerships and its obvious buying a brand new car these days is a better deal than used.

His fit was only two and half years old with less than fifty on it...seems like a fair price. The sport models are more than 15k new and prices are up from the disaster.

The price of used cars will not bring our economy to its knees. Things like oil futures, giving a sh%t load of home loans to people who can't afford them and sending manufacturing jobs overseas to someone who will work for 2 dollars a day, these are some of the things that have crippled our economy.

If you want a good deal on a fit look around and make offers. People can ask any price they want...it doesn't mean they will get it. If you make enough fair offers I'm sure you can find a good deal. I think around 9k you could get an 09 privately if you made enough offers.

Nah, I'm going to get a Miata instead, they're more fun and cheaper.

And what I meant was, people will overpay for Fit now, people will realize how overpriced they are stop buying; prices drop, people who couldn't truly afford fit won't be able to sell, get it repossessed, bam they're f'd

Honda's always have had a better resale value. If it runs your going to get 1500-3000 dollar for a 15 year old car. The earthquake in Japan just raised the value more for the short term, but that raises the cost of parts too.
