HKS Hipermax S Compact installed

I have some pics I can add later but I just installed some HKS Hipermaxes on my 09 Fit Sport.

Impressions
  • Great build quality
  • Easy to install with the exception on no English instructions
  • Rides out nice
Install was pretty straight forward. I could not find a DIY here online. The biggest pain in the az$ was having to remove the wipers and then the cowl cover and then putting in back together without breaking clips or scratching it up. Other than that, no different than installing any other coilovers.

Took the car for a drive after and it rides out real nice. Brings even more life to the car IMO.

Work wheels on the way

Hope this helps someone, save the extra $$ for these.

There is about a one finger gap all around, nothing too crazy just yet. Once the wheels come in I will adjust the height again (lower) when I mount the wheels.

Pics soon.

MSRP $1750, $1450 is a really good price. I paid slightly more than that for mine but from a local shop that I always support.

I finally transferred some pics over to the laptop. Just need to re-size them.

Pics soon.

OK, so I was waiting on the wheels to post pics. Everyone knows what the coilovers look like LOL..

As you see I like Work Wheels. These are the 11R's on the Fit. I will start a post in the GE pic forum in a bit..

Regarding the coilovers.. not sure if this is a common issue but I could not get the rears as low as I wanted without removing the upper lock collars and just mounting the spring right on the upper mount. I figured I am not raising the car at all so I got an extra 1/4 drop by taking out the rear collars..

I will post pics of the rear as an example. I ran out of light..

They are 17x7 +38 with 205/40/17. I would go a different size on the tire if I could do it over again. A 195 would work better if you want to slam it with this offset.

Hey bud, also sent you a reply via PM. On the suspension, some of this depends on how low you want to go and what wheel/tire setup you want. I think with most coilovers you are going to get the stiffer spring rates. Granted you can soften the ride and adjust the coilovers to the softer settings but I dont think you will get that same OEM feel if you want to be lower. Just my opinion from the cars I have dealt with.

Add the wheels and tires then you have to play with the settings to get the right ride and height so you dont rub etc.. sometimes that means going stiffer to get the look you want.

If you go with the same wheel/tire and suspension setup let me know. Be glad to help get you set up.

yeah thanks for the fast replys and PM, iam totally planning on getting your wheel size and tire setup. I looked at a few 18's and they are just a little TOO big. so 17 seems like the key!!!

i hope you get more pics up soon, because iam sure that whole car looks great!
