Official GE Lowering Spring Specs Thread

I know this information is elsewhere, but it's in a different section and has some incorrect info and missing products. This is just a reference for people browsing around looking for info that I will keep updated as products come out.

Listed alphabetically, and all spring rates are in kg/mm. Some of the lowering specs seem off compared to pictures of US Fits, and might be due to differences in weight between US and JDM models. Spring rates on some models below are "variable" as well, but this should give a decent overview for comparison.

Eibach Pro-Kit
F -1.2 in / R -1.4 in
F NA / R NA

Eibach Sportline
F -1.8 in / R -2.0 in
F NA / R NA

Progress Lowering Springs
F -1.2 in / R -1.0 in
F 2.8kg / R 3.6kg

RS-R Suspension Coil & Ti2000
F -1.0 in / R -1.2 in (appears lower in pics to me)
F 2.26kg / R 2.3kg

Swift Sport Mach
F -1.2 in / R -1.0 in
F 2.3kg / R 2.1kg

T1R S-Coils
F -1.5 in / R -1.3 in
F 2.9kg / R 2.5kg

Tanabe NF210
F -1.0 in / R -1.5 in
F 1.7kg / R 2.0kg

Tanabe DF210
F -1.3 in / R -1.8 in
F 1.7kg / R 2.0kg

Tein S Tech
F -1.6 in / R -1.6 in
F 2.3kg / R 2.4kg

H&R Sport Springs
F -1.6 in / R -1.3 in
H&R rarely, if ever, publishes spring rates but the sport models are pretty soft on most cars.

Please let me know if anything was left out or is in error.

This is just what I was looking for! Thanks for posting it up here.

I was originally considering the Progress springs, but now it seems that the Tanabe may be more suitable for an everyday commute.

I think the Progress' would be better suited for matching with aftermarket dampers (which at the time of this writing do not exist stateside.)

Swifts were designed to work with the stock suspension and are of the highest quality. I'd trust that setup over all the rest on stock dampers.

Great thread/post OP. Just bought my 2010 sport a week ago. This helps a lot. Question though, why are 56% of springs lower in the rear? Are our Fits higher in the rear stock(cuz I don't see it)?

I believe the stock suspension is slightly raked, yes.

Thanks...also I believe there are H&R springs for our cars. Drop is 1.6F and 1.3R. Don't know the rates.

BTW do you know what the stock rates are?

Thanks again

This is great info. We just traded in our 2001 Prelude yesterday for a 2011 Fit base to better fit the baby (miss the Prelude already, but loving the Fit too). My Prelude was on JIC coilovers and the Fit's handling is dramatically different. I'm not looking to lower much, but would really like to make the suspension less "floaty" feeling and more responsive, but obviously need something that works well with the stock shocks since there doesn't seem to be any aftermarket ones.
So far, of the ones listed, I can't really afford the Swifts, so perhaps the Eibach Pros or Tanabe NF210s...depending on price.
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. Thanks Hayden for starting this.

Swifts are $250.

I'm trying to figure out which springs would work best with a set of 15" Konigs. I see the sportlines have the biggest drop, but would that be a problem on 15s? I don't see why it would, but just a curious question I guess.

While the wheel size limits your selection on tire size to some degree, it's the size of the tires that matter in a drop.

Need more info.

So if I went with something like the Konig Foil Red (see link) which are 15x7, which size would you recommend I guess for tire? I have a basic understanding of most stuff, its just the tire sizing that my brain doesn't want to comprehend I guess.

FOIL RED

BTW, I have read many of the tire size threads, so I did make somewhat of an effort

I suggest searching the forums a bit more, and use the tire calculator at Tire size calculator to compare the diameter of the stock tires to upgraded ones.

This thread is probably not the best place to ask. In fact, there is a whole section of the board dedicated to the subject: 2nd Generation GE8 Specific Wheel & Tire Sub-Forum - Unofficial Honda FIT Forums

You need to also take the wheel offset into consideration when figuring out the clearance.

the advertised front/rear drops (in inches) are posted, no need for stock height really
