16x7 +40 on Swift Springs?
 

Im looking to get Swift Springs based on the reviews I have read on here. I am currently running 16x7 +40 on stock tires, will I rub with Swift Springs?

I have 16x7 +43 and 205/50/16 tires.

If what I'm hearing is what I think it is, I only rub when I hit any sharp bumps WHILE turning ("hard"ish). But, it could just be the bumpstops. During normal driving, I don't hear or feel anything. The liners don't appear to have any visible indication of rubbing.

Did you cut your bump stops?

i was running 215/45 R17 with swift springs...not even close to rubbing even during hard cornering.

Would it be possible to get some pics posted of your set up? Also did you have an allignment done and do you have the read outs of your allignment? Thanks for any help or info you can provide......

I've been lazy, so I haven't gone to get an alignment done (one of these days, soon).

So it sounds like Im going to be o.k. if I go with the swifts. Ill try them out and see how the 185's do and then try some 195's

but what width & offset were your wheels?

skinny is running a 38 offset. The swift springs do not drop the car low enough for the tires to rub during hard cornering. Only time that it will rub is hitting a huge dip in the road at highway speed where the suspension is fully compressed.

I'm on a 40 offset slightly cambered with 205/40 and I have two finger gaps left between tire and fender. I do not rub during corner. I rubbed once when I hit a dip while turning left.

wheres a good shop to buy the swift springs?
do u need to align/camber after the install?

An alignment is recommended whenever you do anything to the suspension (though, like I said, I've been lazy). Camber isn't needed for the Swifts, up to you if you want to do it to the front (got plasma cutters for the back?)

As for cheaper... beats me.

another question, is my warranty gonna be affected
with this mod?
how is the ride compared with the stock springs?

According to a lot of folks, no, the warranty isn't affected (especially with Swifts). I, myself, have not asked the dealer about it, nor did they mention anything about it when they did my last oil change (come on, they gotta see it, bright orange/red!!).

As for the ride... in terms of "harshness," it feels almost like stock... I think the Fit is the second harshest ride I've ever driven even with stock springs... beaten only by a Corvette (that's the only "sports" car I've ever driven though). So basically, in terms of harshness, I can't really tell the difference. But, the Swifts make you feel more ... "daring" when it comes to taking curves. You don't feel the leaning as much... and the tires still grip at a little higher speed on those curves (even on stock Dunlops).

All in all, a very good mod.
