You will hear varied opinions on the size. 17's can look nice, but with the anemic output of the engine, I just don't get making it stress even harder to get you around. Now if you can get some 17s that weigh less than the stockers, you should be alright, but the larger tires also weigh more which again moves you a step backwards. Also what are your plans, is the car for function or for LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME? The stock sizing of 185/55/16 and a +53 offset wheel does have quite a sunk look to it. If you want no rubbing issues +45 offset on a 6.5" width wheel with a 205/50R16 works like a charm, even being lowered to an extent, the rear still is a bit sunk, but much improved from stock. The front will be just about even with the fender when looking straight down. Now you will hear SLAM and POKE IT, your car is (insert whatever you see fit here) if it is not "hellaflush" from a big crowd all over the internet. If that is your thing, then go for it, but that also tells me that you are part of the 'LOOK AT ME' crowd. Reason being, because the car is not really functional at that point, sure it functions from A to B, but it takes the fun nature of driving away from this wonderful little chassis that begs to be driven hard even with going back to its anemic output.

So with all that, what exactly are you looking to do?

SSRs are nice for 17s and especially they are pretty lightweight.

I'm a cheapskate, so I say stick to 16s. 205/50R16 rubber should be okay on a 7.0"-wide wheel.
