Honda Insight Alloy wheels on a FIT
Hi I'm a noob here and when it comes to wheels in general. I have A 2010 Fit base and I'm looking to upgrade my steelies for alloys, while staying in the 15x5.5 inch size for fuel economy purposes. They only wheels I see in this size are the hella expensive SSR Type C's(out of my range) or getting factory alloys off another car like the Insight EX from some1 looking to upgrade from the alloys to something else. (Does any1 know if the Insight wheels will fit the FIT?) or possible trying to fit Mini Cooper rims that I found. The Mini rims are 15x5.5's with a 56.1 c.bore, 4/100, 45mm offset,13.7lbs, but have 14mm holes in the rims compared to 12mm studs we have on our Fits. I found bulge conical lugnuts that would sit perfectly in the rim, but I'm a little hesitant on putting wheels with 14mm holes on a 12mm car. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Someone here has the 5 spoke wheels Mini wheels on their GE, maybe try and do a search and see how he did it. I had a MINI (07') and the newer ones have different size studs then the pre-07's.
Your best option is getting some sport wheels from someone here. They weigh a little over 37 lbs with tires, that's very light and trust me, your not going to lose any mpg adding those to your ride
Welcome to the forum, its a good place to be!

Update: I tried putting the Mini Cooper rims on and I just didn't feel comfortable with a 14mm hole on a 12mm stud and only getting 6 rotations on the conical lugnuts, so I returned them and purchased the Insight EX alloys and boy do I love them . I do have a TPMS question though, The Insight alloys came with tires and sensors, the Insight sensors are the same part# as the Fit. And since I put the Insight alloys on my car (only about 10 miles) the TPMS sensor has not come on, does this mean that they will not come on? Or does it take more than 10 miles for the TPMS sensor to come on? Any info would be appreciated.

the tpms brain simply hasnt registered them as missing yet...give it about 50 miles at most and it will coem on.
to fix this:
honda TPMS system can only remember 1 set of sensors. so you will need the code off the sensors currently on your car (need ot remove tires to get it). go to your honda dealer and they can program the tpms brain to teh new sensors....might cost $100

well if you want ot keep your wheels safe don't get the OEM locks try and find some uncommon locks or use 4 different kinds.

Ok I'm going with 2 different Honda and 2 different Gorilla wheel locks, from what I found there aren't many ball seat wheel locks out there. This might seem a little overboard, but these rims are very hard to find and also very expensive to replace if a dealer can find them, I think there on national back order. Anyways thanks for the help.

Here's a couple of pics of them not before I put them on the car. The pics don't do them any justice the really look better in person, just like the sport wheels only in 15inch.

Unfortunately they weighed the same as my steel'es 34lbs(tire and rim), so if the stock dunlops weigh 16lbs than I guess the wheels weigh 18lbs, at least that's what my bathroom scale said. I thought they would be lighter, oh well. They actually look even better in person. And I think because of the offset difference 45 to 53, I handle better in turns, and they came with the same dunlops that the Fit base come with, so I know it's not a tire difference.
