i have 17x7 +45 enkei pf01's on my '11 Fit with 205/45's and Swift springs and wanted to know if I can run 10mm spacers just in the rear without having any problems with rubbing. i know some people run an 8" wide rim in the rear but I am not sure if they have any problems with rubbing? Also, since it is a 10mm spacer, would that essentially bring my offset to +35 mm in the rear? Anyone have this setup? input is greatly appreciated cause I am really looking forward to doing this!!!

also, 10mm is like .40 inches, so would that mean I am running equivalent to a 7.5" wheel?

 

I can't answer about the rubbing, but adding 0.4" inches via spacer is more like using an 8" wheel.

When changing wheel widths half the difference goes out towards the fender, half goes in (from the center line) towards the suspension parts.

8 minus 7 is 1. And half of that is 0.5.

Using a spacer just moves it out.

solbrothers>> one question for you, on that site that you linked, it has an existing and a new section. what do I put down for the new part(since my wheels are still the same) do I put down an 8" width rim(because of the 10 mm spacer?) or a 7" rim(which I currently have) with a 35mm offset(because of the spacer?)

 

put the width of the rim, and add the spacer to the offset (actually subtract it from the offset number you currently have)

actually, all you are doing is "effectively" turning your wheels into +35 offset wheels.

yeah, thats what i'm thinkin. someone had 17x8 +30 offset with 15mm spacers and had rubbing, but i am only going with a 10mm spacer on a 17x7 +45mm wheel, so i really dont think I will have any problems either. I think i am going to pull the trigger and get them (keeping fingers crossed for the best)

 

45+10=55. Your specs are now 17x7 +55. Or an equivalent of 17x7.5 +43. Half an inch = 12.5mm. Your spacer is 10mm. So since your spacer is under 12mm its more like 17x7.323568900754321579 +45.

You shouldn't listen to him because the offset doesn't effectively go up, it effectively goes down.

 

thats what i figured about the offset as well. do you guys have any recommendation as to where to buy the spacers from? they are everywhere on the internet, but I want to make sure I am getting a quality/strong product since it is getting bolted on to the hub of my car. what material is recommended? aluminum/magnesium?

well, looks like I will probably be going with these, a little expensive but at least they are hubcentric, which is kind of hard to find for 10mm spacers.

Just wanted to note that with 10mm you might be pushing it on the stock studs, which will require inserting longer ones. I've heard that 5mm is acceptable, and after that, people are not able to turn the lug enough times. They may be overestimating the risk, but it sounds like you want to do this right.

H&R or project kics should be ok brands to go with.
