Honda Fit Sport 2012 with Focal X wheels 42mm offset - confused about the size.

Hi All,

I would like to upgrade wheels on my soon to be delivered Honda Fit Sport 2012 Manual. The stock wheels come with an offset 55mm. Right?

I am looking at Focal X wheels 16x7 with 42mm offset and 185/55R16 Yokohama AVID Ascend (H- or V-Speed Rated) Blackwall.

Can you let me know if there is going be any rubbing? I would like to keep the car height as close as possible to stock.

I am total noob when it comes to modding cars but if you need help with 29er, road bikes etc. I will more than happy help you.

Wheels.

Focal X Flat Black w/Red Stripe

You won't have any problems rubbing at all.

like others said, if you will be running on stock suspension even on swift springs and that tire ( 185/55/16 ) you won't have any problems at all.

Your rim choice looks like the volk te37s

Good and bad news. I had to switch wheels for a different one. I got a call from Tire Rack and they said I would have to go up to 205.

I went with Rial Murago (Anthracite Painted). They should look quite good since the car polished metallic.

Rial Murago Anthracite Painted

Pardon my ignorance but I will not need any camber bolts??? Once I get the wheels installed I will look around for different springs etc.

Thank you.

so you're going with 16x6.5 ET48. you can use 185/55/16 and no camber bolts. might even look okay without lowering.

if you went with 16x7 ET42 205/50/16, you'll want to lower it as it will have too much poke in the front, and camber bolts to give it a tad more neg camber to clear the tab inside the fender holding the fender liner. you can read about how to tuck the liner, etc in the lowered 2009+ treads if you're interested.

I am really excited. I am also happy that I was able to get $10000 for my Subaru Outback 2006 2.5i with 45000 miles. I had a big misfire few weeks ago and the catalytic converter went out. All fixed under warranty. I did not want to end up with leaking head gaskets at 60000 miles or less. Then I would not get any money at all.

smart move, great deal!

those outbacks are made in indiana, right? i had a 06 legacy wagon i bought new in 2005, and it had butt loads of warranty problems. i liked the look of the car, but i just hated the reliability. so i traded it in too while it was running without SES to get the 09 FitSport back in 2008. hahaha. been happy with the 09.

my 12 MT is actually my 3rd FitSport. i had a 08 MT before this one.

Yes, they are. I think engine and transmission are Japanese. The stock tires (Potenza) are plain horrible. lol My story is the same as yours. My engine overheated at 30000 miles, it was so bad it had be towed - cooling system died along with some electronic system. In my view, engine is the most important part of the car. I do not mind addressing other issues if they arise but I will not tolerate faulty design of head gaskets. I bought Subaru since we wanted a car for hauling our bikes. I am pretty upset since I wanted to drive it to the ground but my gut feeling tells me that I would have more problems than anticipated. The guy at the dealership said it is weird to see somebody trading an Outback for a Fit. I told him I needed a smaller car and better mpg.

My FIT OTD is $17,198 - $10000 = $7200 + $600 (sales tax). I may get an extended warranty after few months.

I have not driven a stick since I moved to the States from Europe in 2004.
