Black out chrome trunk garnish?
For anyone who can help.....I bought some PlastiDip and did the 'Fit' and 'EX' badges one the tailgate (I added the EX badge), and I want to do the chrome bar too. Is there an easy way to remove the rear wiper and the 'H' logo, or the chrome bar itself? I didn't remove the inside trim panel yet to look, thought I would ask you guys first. Or do I just have to tape everything off? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I wrapped the chrome bit in the back with matte black wrap off that auction site (12" x 60" = $6.99 shipped). This is the first time I've handled this wrap stuff. It's pretty easy, BUT not easy to do well. The final wrap isn't perfect and I think I could do much better if I try again. IMO this matte finish looks better than the chrome or the gloss black of $60+ LX garnish, especially paired with the matte black wheels (better photo's coming soon).
Next up is doing something about the badges and front grill. I ordered a "JDM style" grill, but it never showed up and 2 weeks later I got a message saying they were going to ship the last one they had in stock, but they found that it was damaged. They didn't know when they would have more in. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2016.07.07.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...427_190723.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...428_080220.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...428_080707.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...428_080737.jpg |
Grobinski, that matte finish does look nice. Any restrictions on washing it or what kind of cleaning products or wax that can't come in contact with it?
