From a 2015 LX MT to a 2019 LX CVT

Welp, my wife's New Beetle was showing signs of giving up the ghost (always hated that thing anyway) and despite the fact that she despises the stick shift in my LX, she did prefer everything else about it--ride, control, visibility, responsiveness, &c.

So, Sunday she finally goaded me into going with her to the dealership--something I truly despise.

Just a couple of quick notes by way of comparison, if anyone else is interested (I might add a few details later):

I HAVEN'T GOT TO DRIVE IT YET!

-But , it's much quieter than mine.Seems heavier, or at least more solid.

We'll see about the mpg situation and whether ECO mode will be useful.

The head unit looks slightly different

Now I have to put a bunch of music on her phone--The Beetle was cd/radio only

Love the Aegean Blue, it really pops. My wife is ordinarily interested only in red colors, but this one changed her mind.

Looking forward to some longer drives/road trips so she can most of the driving

Congrats on the new ride for the wife!!! She will enjoy it as much as my wife enjoys driving our LX manual. Its so easy to park when they go shopping. That is the hidden cost we didn't think off!!! LOL!!!

As for the EX being quieter and feeling more solid than your LX, being heavier, more insulation was used for the higher end model. Honda needed the LX to get high mileage for marketing purposes.

Note: the Fit with the CVT is rated as high as 36 mpg combined (33 mpg city, 41 mpg highway), although that ratings applies only to the base 2015 Fit LX with the CVT. The mid- and upper-level Fit EX models, however, are 86 pounds heavier; they receive a rating of 35 mpg combined (32 mpg city, 38 mpg highway)

Enjoy.
I personally like loading my music to a memory stick and using one of the USB inputs. I use the hidden one in the center console. 2016 Honda EX...if things have changed since then.
Then I don't have to worry about downloading "stuff" to my phone, battery charge of the phone, and/or blue tooth connection.
Plus you can fit entire music libraries on a memory stick and have endless personally chosen music.

But that's all personal choice.

That's exactly what I do; I just figure for the wife's 15-20 minute commute it might be easier for her to have the phone stocked musically speaking.
For her, it's a vast improvement over the situation in her New Beetle, whose input jack had been mysteriously borked and lacked BT. The glove compartment and visor were an impenetrable maze of naked cds and empty cases (god I hated that car)
