Started my search for a Honda Fit before I started tearing my current car apart for track. I was originally on the hunt for a GD3 however, a clean, low mileage one is near impossible and or extremely overpriced where I live at least. After checking out countless GD3's on marketplace a 2015 manual transmission popped up at my local Honda dealership. For not much more money than a clean GD3 it seemed like the most logical choice to get the GK5 (imo) well here she is, nothing special
after a few months of driving I was eager to get to work on the GK. Hubcaps had to go. I found some Rota circuit 10 on marketplace for cheap. I ended up refinishing them DIY style, heres some quick pics of the process Step 1 : Sand Step 2 : Scuff clear coat till dull Step 3 : Apply adhesion promoter Step 4 : Apply primer Step 5 : Apply "base coat" Step : Apply 2K clear I went with 205/45R16 Achillies ATR sport Like new
My coilovers arrived later the same day I mounted tires on. very stoked. I will be making a separate coilover install DIY thread but here they are, I went with a Canadian company called Neo motorsport. Lets see how they do I plan to max the coilovers at 1.8" F and 2.0" R
I have a few more things on my list but not going too too crazy with this car
I'm going to write a full DIY for coilover install soon. I've run into alot of problems when installing the rears and all instructions and forum threads kind of just leave it in the dark with no clarification. I have been playing around with the rear struts and pieces kind of figured it out but waiting for conformation from the coilover company I went with to avoid any issues with future warranty eligibility. anyways heres the car lowered.
This was just fronts installed to ride height I wanted however after installing the rears I've learned the rears cant go as low as fronts so I had to lift the fronts to match the rears. Still looks great ! Heres the cars ride height after a little bit of adjusting here and there. one thing I'd like to mention is lowering my car threw out my toe and my car had a EPS light due to steering wheel being a little crooked. I got alignment and all is well now. I was scared at first as I've lowered a handful of cars and to my understanding camber goes out but never came across toe going out. Alignment shop said its totally normal with some cars
Very nice, I wish I had gone with coilovers myself. If you care about suspension, you will probably end up with a rear sway bar- probably the best single mod I've done.

Agreed... I got a Progress (? Iirc) for ours, definitely worth the small investment in $$$ and time, super easy install, fun lil piece. I absolutely love our ‘15 LX 6 spd... just waiting for the damn tires the PO put on it to go with 205s ....damn Coopers last a long time, it seems, and I’m not one to replace simply to replace, likely by winter, perhaps, who knows? This LX ranks among the most favorite cars I’ve owned....6 spd manual, no touch screen nonsense, about as old school as I’ll ever own again.... it doesn’t see a lot of mileage, probably be the last manual transmission car (in my price range, anyway) in my lifetime. My wife even likes it’s simplicity

Agreed.
After my e30 is gone (slated departure is later this spring/summer), I doubt I'll be able to afford anything this fun and simple again!
