PIAA Xtreme White Light Bulbs.

Recently purchased a set of PIAA Xtreme White Hybrid Lights.

Definitely brighter than the Sylvania Silverstar Ultras I had. Not quite LED brightness. That's OK. Don't want to have a light pattern all over the road and blind other drivers. The PIAA lights have Daytime Running Lights capability. So you still have Daytime Running Lights like the Silverstars. I would get the PIAA Lights if you want lights brighter than stock or the Silverstars.

You'll have to order directly from PIAA. Or from an auto after market store. Not available at the big box auto stores.

Went through 2 sets and both burned out. 2nd set was the replacement after the 1st set burned out in less than a year. Went LED and have been using them for several years.

I was going to get a set of GTR LED Lights. I want to give another set of H4 brighter lights a shot before I go LED.

Before investing in the GTR LEDs head over to TRS and read through the info on the Morimoto 2Stroke v2.0 LED bulbs they have. It seems they have finally gotten the bugs out of optimum output from an enclosure designed around a halogen light source. In particular, the ability to move the emitter body forward\backward to optimize output from each unique headlight body the bulbs are put into. They are NOT CHEAP, but well worth the investment if a complete HID retrofit isn't in your plans

PIAA Extreme White Light Bulbs.

So far I'm satisfied with the PIAA Extreme White Light bulbs. I may go LED in the future. But right now no.

Tried the PIAA bulbs on my GK and while the brightness and beam throw is good, the service life is horrible..life expectancy is approx 60% of other halogens. Some LED’s just don’t work well in a reflector housing but I got a set from Auxito as I run them in my FZ09 and they’re awesome. 6500K zenon white color. Beam throw and spread is perfect, no blank spots and with a solid cutoff that doesn’t blind oncoming traffic. Got a set for the fog lights as well and rarely need the high beams even on the dark roads here in rural Hawaii. There’s a lot of junk LED’s out there, some really pricey, but the Auxito’s are like $40 a pair on Amazon and I’d highly recommend them. Oh, and they work with the DRL’s too

PIAA Xtreme White Light Bulbs.

I like the PIAA Lights so far. Although I haven't had the lights very long at this point. If I do upgrade GTR Lighting seems the way to go.

Yeah I liked the PIAA’s, just the service life versus cost per bulb I wasn’t fond of. As far as LED’s, there’s a staggering array of choices and it kind of comes down to word of mouth or personal preference tbh. I’ve had good luck with the Auxito’s in the FZ for the last 2 years so thought I’d give them a go on the Fit. One thing I did look for was the ability to install them without doing major surgery on the dust cover/rubber boot..it’s tight but the bulbs slide through the boot with zero cutting leaving the heat sink exposed to air as it needs to be and they never heat up at all so the usable service life should be decent

Piaa.

The PIAA bulbs are going strong right now. I'll see how long they last before going to the GTR lights.

PIAA Extreme White Bulbs.

Well one of the bulbs burned out today.

I still love how bright these bulbs are compared to the Sylvania Silverstars. I'm planning on ordering a few PIAA Extreme White bulbs so I have a few once the current one burns out again.

Luckily I saved my old Sylvania Silverstar lights. I'll replace my burned out PIAA with my old Silverstar bulb.

I've been running PIAAs in my VBP for the last 13 years or so. Always been impressed with their light output; especially when their Intense White bulbs were still produced.

Sure... Their life was a bit lack luster with only lasting me a year or so since I did a LOT of night driving (with the Intense White bulbs) but their output and clarity was surprisingly good for a halogen bulb. The Xtreme White bulbs, which I now have in 2 of my GDs and my CR-Z's high beam, last a little bit longer but didn't have as crisp out a white light the discontinued Intense models. I briefly used the Silver Star Ultras while in a pinch when one of the bulbs burnt out and then later gave them away to a friend since I was so disappointed with the light output of the Sylvanias.

Back to the Xtreme White bulbs... There is now a newer variant of the Xtreme White that has something along the lines of "night tech" as part of its moniker. I believe it lost a little bit of light output compared to the older version but service life improved. I may try those in soon and compare them side by side.

A little less brightness in favor of longer service life I'll take that.

I'm sure still brighter than the Sylvania Silverstars.

Sylvania Silverstar Bulb.

Just installed my old Silverstar bulb I saved when I got the Xtreme White bulbs.

There's a definite difference in brightness. The Silverstar bulb is definitely a bit dimmer than the Xtreme White. I'll get another set of Xtreme White bulbs soon.
