Looking for some help diagnosing an issue with my fit. It's a 2018, and lately the heater has not been blowing hot. The fan blows just fine on all the different speed settings, and it blows cold ok, but when I turn it to heat, even after driving in excess of 20 minutes it never blows anything better than "hot breath". I topped off the coolant reservoir, and bleed the system of any bubbles, but that didn't change anything. I also have not noticed any loss of coolant, or a coolant smell from inside the cabin.
Welcome. Assuming you did a complete coolant purge, I'm thinking a bad/plugged heater core, or a stuck-open thermostat. Either could prevent the engine from ever getting to normal operating temperature.
We've heard all kinds of problems regarding the lack of A/C, but relatively few problems involving lack of heat. Hope it's something simple like the thermostat.
Hi Mark, I've been having the same issue and perhaps I can save you hours on You Tube with this, but it might be a stuck blend door or an issue with the blend door actuator. I took apart my glove box area but couldn't quite see how to access the guts of the HVAC unit. Like you, I ruled out the coolant, blown fuse, etc. I hear it is several hundred to get fixed at dealer and i am too stubborn for that, so at this point I'm researching how to access the blend door. Will keep you posted!
