Just picked up this gently-used 2015 Fit EX as a base for a new racecar!
As the title suggests, I picked up this sweet 2015 Fit EX 6 speed yesterday as a base for a new racecar. I know very little about the Fit other than it being a pretty great platform for amateur rally and road racing in things like Sundae Cup. As I learn about the car and build it out to meet the racing spec, I'll add update pics, parts lists, and the like here so everyone can see!
If anyone has any experience building a Fit as a racecar, any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!
Most of the Fit racing stuff seems to be happening overseas, but if you read up on Z062Fit's post history you'll find a very thorough job building a car.
Most parts for the 3g Fit chassis are now getting discontinued by manufacturers. So you better start buying up stuff quick. Won't be easy at this point considering they aren't even available in the USA any longer. And there wasn't a ton of support to start with.
What's wrong with buying a Fit that's already set up for Racing?
Rather than converting this black EX into a racing car?
Exactly. You would also want to start with a base model car with no factory options including the sunroof. For any future cage work and also being lighter weight being a stripped down version.
There are plenty of race ready Fit's on the market. You just have to check the race classifieds for them.

Shameful.
So telling a newer member that they are better off starting with a car already built, because the parts are just not easily available. Instead of turning a fully loaded street car Fit into a race car is unhelpful? Get off your high horse, because I don't see you adding anything helpful here yourself smart guy.. lol
It's not bad advice; because it isn't even advice.
Unless you're willing to sell OP's car for them, or you own a time machine, you're not helping. I was stoked to see a new race build. Some members have really cool ones going right now. AND it sounds like there's going to be a bunch of minty 3rd gen interior parts for sale soon. NWCH, did you ever get your Watanabes going? I thought that was a sick idea.
So now you're triggered. You want to build a Fit Racing Car for the Fit Cup Series. OK great. Spend lots of money and have a great time.
Then when your Fit Racing Bug is gone,
What's going to happen to your now unwanted Fit Racing car?
I think you should watch a Fit Cup Series Race before you decide to get into this type of car racing. And ask questions from the guys already in this racing series.

I don't understand your point here, Chitown. I thought everybody knew that all racing is a money-losing proposition — maybe a notch above putting your money in the fireplace and setting a match to it. Who cares what happens to the car after he's done racing it?

Ultra Racing & Beatrush still sell various chassis bracing for the GK , there's also one available from Honda Performance that triangulates the chassis from just before the rear wheels
to to the center of the frame . there's something about that one from a forum member
Any plans for the OEM wheels?
I just picked up a 2016 Fit LX with the 15" steelies, and would be interested in 16" OEM wheels.
I've done a little bit of early searching, and haven't found any aftermarket wheels that are at or near stock offset, or are not wider than I want.
Not trying to build a racecar, just sporty up the handling a bit. Already ordered the rear sway, next some lower profile tires without going too wide, 185 or 195 is just fine for my use.

I have a set of EX wheels just like in the picture of that Black Fit.
I live in Chicago by Wrigley Field. The Chicago Cubs home field.
Yes, I could be interested, depending on condition.
Send me a PM with pictures and description of any damage, asking price, and if possible shipping cost to Monterey, California.
