Transmission compatibility

Hi, I'm new here
I'm thinking about turbocharging my Fit; and I was wondering if the manual transmission could handle 300ish horsepower or in case it doesn't does anyone know if the Civic SI 10th gen gearbox is interchangeable with the Fit engine. Thanks for the help

No the stock trans will not hold up to 300+ hp. For very long at least. And no the Civic drive train will NOT bolt up to the stock GK engine.

This is why people do engine swaps. The stock Fit stuff isn't worth modifying.

The stock 6MT on GKs have yet to be pushed to that point. Also considering what it was intended for, it likely won't hold up for 300 WHP or WTQ for very long... Maybe once speculatively speaking.

Also, the NA L15B1 and turbo L15B7/L15BE and other iterations do NOT crossover at all. Those transmissions only correlate with those turbo Earth Dreams engines.

I'd also look around for those who have GE8 RS models with the 6MT as well. Its pretty much the same transmission as the GK but the clutch case is revised to work with the L15A7 from the parts cross referencing I've been doing. You might see some boosted folk that explored some of the lessor known ranges of that transmission on other Fit forums like the Europe based Club Jazz for example (I can't think of any Japan spec forums at this time). Best of luck if you decide to research it.

L15B1 Trans

I had my GK transmission built and the gears worked over by TRE transmission. These guys are gods in the Mitsubishi community but do other trans work too. He said he doubts the transmission will hold 300 lb ft of torque... I'm considering making an interface plate to the L15B7 transmission but they rip 4th gear apart at 500hp. I'll eventually get a sequential but I need to save up for that ($$$). PPG does sell a hardened gear set for the L15B7 transmission but even that is $4500 last time I checked. I'm thinking about doing a ILX kswap eventually and that trans is a DCT which should hold over 500 lb ft.
