2017 injectors need replacing

My 2017 Honda fit is diagnosed as needing new fuel injectors like a local Honda dealership.
The dealership told me there is no extended warranty on those.
do the defective fuel injectors, have a code printed on them?
I’m asking because if I’m paying for the injectors and ones removed, have the code showing they’re the defective ones, I have a good argument with Honda Canada for covering the cost.

From what I recall the defective fuel injectors were used on 2015 and early 2016 models. That's it. By mid 2016 an updated design was being installed on newly cars at the factory and was also being used to replace 2015/16 problem injectors.

Problems still continue to occasionally crop up on the newer injectors in later years right up to the present but the cause is unknown and Honda won't comment..

I’m sorry but that makes no sense at all to me. If the 2015 and early 2016 models were defective, How did Honda know they needed to re-design the injectors when the defect appear on those fit models until 3000 to 6000 km.

Some people drive a lot. It would have been clear to Honda by late 2015 that cars with higher mileage were coming in with problems which required injector replacement - costing Honda a lot of money. They track everything under warranty and look for disturbing trends. Whether it was a design defect affecting all injectors or a manufacturing defect only affecting random injectors we have no idea but the end result was that they made some kind of change to the injectors..
